The Band-Aid Solutions for High Gas Prices and Immigration
OIL/ GAS
Don't you just love a quick fix to satisfy an empty stomach? Your probably thinking with Bush lowering, the already low standards of your air quality, those high gas prices shall never come your way again, lol. Ah, l love how we think. You whine and complain, baring your feelings in those low polls while getting your daily stomach fed for the day. Yes, my sarcasm is plagued here often, its just a symptom of me being mentally rattled, lol. Here is the deal, I LOVE those high gas prices! I say, keep it going! Maybe, just maybe you might hop on a bus a few days a week or maybe you might actually car pool or maybe your might ride a bike here and there. You could even be really cool and get yourself a horse. Manure only mildly adds to pollution, lol. So, your going to get your way and the lower gas prices are coming soon.
America remains dependent on oil. No-one is radically investing in hybrid cars or natural options for fuel, so bring on the oil. Before you find me irrelevant, go give your babies a kiss, they are going to have a whole another earth to live on. An earth without a rain forest, states are covered with water, and far off lands paying the price for your indulgence with their barren land. Interestingly enough, its in your generation, where the point of no return remains. Now go drive your car, save your .50 cents/gallon and wipe away your "today's" complaints. Next year, or even six months down the road, when the gas prices go up again, lets see if tomorrow is on the political agenda.
Immigrants- Possible solutions? Debate and Ponder
1) If only one parent is a legal immigrant and gives birth to a child in America, they can get governmental assistance. If both parents are illegal immigrants and have a child in America, the child will be a citizen and receive benefits but the parents can't. I believe most should first pay their dues. Live here for at least seven to ten years, pay tax dollars and then they can become citizens of America and get benefits. Why?
If you can't take care of your own back yard, you don't go pruning else where. We're responsible and accountable to make sure the poor Americans that already live here, have access to Medicare and health care. We have a deplorable minimum wage and Americans struggle greatly. Its a first come, first serve bases; its the back of the line but a line your able to be in. America is a land of immigrants but historically, we didn't have a national debt. We've financial problems as a nation, thus limiting our choices. The solutions to the immigrant problem is to spend our money wisely.
2) The strict guidelines on green cards needs to change. Make it easier for Mexicans to come and work here. I recognize you might get an influx of Mexicans coming here but we can sacrifice a bit more for the poor. We have to keep a good time line on their access so to make room for the Mexicans who haven't had their chance.
3) The Mexicans who come and work here for the 7-10 year stretch of seasonal work, can also get free financial advise. Learning how to invest in Mexico and save a portion of their money, so they have other options to look at. Creating business opportunities for Mexicans in their native land will add to their countries economy.
4) We hire some seriously, brain powered financial experts to help assist the Mexican government in creating new industries, so their economy can rise to the occasion to offer a path for their citizens. I know we do this on some level, but this needs to addressed far more. Americans who vacation in Mexico could get tax write-offs to encourage Mexicos economy growth. Make it easier for Americans to adopt and foster children in Mexico. Create a program that if you foster a Mexican teenager for the school year, you can get tax benefits and they can return to their families for the summer. I can think of countless ideas to help assist our neighbor, Mexico.
We are not responsible for Mexico but we as a nation has benefited from their hard. They pay far more tax dollars today, than the smaller percent who receive government funding. They're our brothersand sisters and have few options in Mexico. I look highly on those who tend the fields and do the hard labor that doesn't have a huge return financially. I respect their work-ethic greatly!
The economical hit America takes funding our borders and deployment of illegal immigrants is totally outrageous. In twenty minutes I thought of a few solutions. This isn't to say I have all the answer but only imagine what the experts in these fields could do. We can be far more innovative and creative. There are countless ways we can help without raising our cost. The answer isn't to remove the borders. The answer is to use our foresight and think. No matter if your Mexican, Arab or Cuban or..etc., all illegal immigrants are subject to the law. In all fairness and equality, no-one should be exempt based on race or nation.
Mending the problem with political band aids with no real solution is a "today" answer and doesn't remove the problem. The Mexican citizens are simply trying to find a way to survive. You might ask, why should we be expected to reach our arms out so far? Simply because your mind even asks, simply because your heart hesitates and simply because your pocket books says no; a good stretch will do you some good.
"Lets throw a political band-aid on high gas prices and add more air pollution. Lets throw a political band-aid on immigration and add higher cost of produce. Lets whine, complain and get our way, to only discover, a band-aid that covered the day yet a wound is still a wound." -Raven Smith
