Snowballs in the Middle East
A couple of snow balls are rolling down the hill that requires well thought out responses from the world. The war in Iraq and now with Iran's soon to be nuclear capabilities we must try and avoid a potential WWIII. Careful negotiations with Iran must be considered.
Snow balls in Iraq
Bush is hinting that Americas withdrawal out of Iraq maybe within the next year and a half. The hope is that the Iraqi government will become stable, so that American forces can move out. I have been right about the after-affects of the Iraqi war, so let me put this bluntly- The Iraqi government may find stability in leadership but the Iraqi people will not experience what a safe nation feels like for centuries. It takes time to change the mindset of cultures and we don't have the financial means to walk through Iraqis future ongoing uprisings. Here is the Iraq snow ball- It's HOW we walk out that reveals the snow ball, that could hit us later on.
For many Americans, you must realize its only a small percentage of Muslims around the world are crazed radicals. Most of the Muslims actually hate Saddam and feared his ruthless leadership. The majority are now grateful that Saddam is gone. The Iraqis are also grateful for the birth of their new democratic nation that has finally come to pass.
During Saddams rule the Iraqis had Saddam to blame for their fear, poverty, riots and the daily killing of their people. America, coming to their rescue is the opportunity for freedom that they have hoped for. If we withdraw without educating the Iraqi people that their future will still be tough, they will feel disenchanted. The snow ball of new rebels will come from the Iraqis that were once, in favor of us. It might take a year or so, after our withdrawal to fuel this but it could happen. More Iraqis will blame us and no longer Saddam, thus begins a long, inner civil war.
Iraqis must learn through television, radio and newspapers that it takes time to build a new nation and for acceptance. We could show historical documentaries of what are some normal expectations when a new and entirely different government begins. By doing this, they could gain a realistic view and not jump to blame the United States for their problems. It is true that the common man in Iraq sits at home and hopes it will all end but he doesn't make the daily news. Today, the radicals make the daily news with their car bombs that kills people daily. The whole world has watched this behavior for years but we don't want the Iraqi people to look at their new circumstances and blame us. We don't want other countries blaming us for their continual problems either. We can't let this snow ball go by us. If we do, we might even see a future union between Iraq and Iran. The Iraqi uprisings and their frustrations could bring some to the front lines of war, in support for Iran. This is a logical possibility.
Snow balls in Iran
Russia doesn't understand Iran can't be trusted or maybe they do. They also don't have this dire need to protect America, if and when Iran creates nuclear bombs. I don't believe Iran would use this nuclear ability against us but its possible. You see, every leader on the planet knows that to strike with a nuclear attack, only means a nuke will come their way but when your loosing you can get desperate for pay-back. A war with Iran would be on their land, in their desert and their scattered armies. Iran can't win a war against us and they do know that but with their religious beliefs of atonement as martyrs; the choice to send nuclear bombs to America would be a decision they're capable of. Russia will probably sit back and watch. They're might aid us but not fighting steadfastly by our side as allies.
The Bush Administration is open to talks with Iran and this is exactly what we need to do. We need to stop UN Sanctions and work with Iran one-on-one. These are hard decisions because Iran is our enemy. Iran has backed many terrorists attacks around the world. To negotiate with them is at best a compromise that in time, could benefit the whole world. If we attack Iran after the Russia/Iran deal is signed, this could become the precursor for WWIII. It's how we deal with our enemies camp where foresight is the ideal.
The Iraqi people will struggle for centuries. They're a culture that's been hidden from the world and is indoctrinated by old cultural prisons. The radicals will continue to pop-up from generation to generation and the car bombs will continue. Persecution and possible death is still very real consequence for those who speak up. It won't feel like a safe place to live for years. The last thing we need is for Iran and Iraq to work together or possibly attack Israel. We can't afford to stay in Iraq but we must plan our withdrawal, while educating the Iraqi people.
The Snow ball of a possible WWIII
China is still in the background. They're aware they cant win a war against us but it's possible they might join in the middle eastern war and not as our allies. United Nations support can counter attack some of this but not all. If we attack Iran after their deal is signed with Russia, this might seal another deal between Russia and China. Why? They might think they're next in line for war. Fear and ignorance has always had some path in war, by some.
Talks and even some compromises with Iran should be considered. Our next president needs the balance of leadership that commands respect and yet gains trust overseas. It maybe a woman but whoever it be, I pray our future president has the patience to see that the snow balls have been thrown and we must redirect their potential paths.
