RebukeTheWorld's News Briefing 6/17/06: LRA must negotiate by July - North Korea- Iran- Celebrities
Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) has until this July to negotiate.
350km north of Kampala, the Patongo camp holds over 40,000 people and close to two million people are scattered in camps across Africa. These little children have to break stones all day long to raise money to eat. The pebbles they used help to cement the bases of camp latrines. When they fill ten jerry cans of stones they get paid 300 shillings or .17 US cents. They do labor long and for little pay and must suffer even more; they spend the day without their parents and sleep at night alone. Patongo camp leader Okello Celestino says that the camps have little medical staff or water. Malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia, worm infestation, waterborne diseases-cholera, and malnutrition faces these children every single day.
United Nations coordinator Jan Egeland said that there is a lack of international understanding about the severity of the situation in northern Uganda. I agree! Hilary Benn, Britain's International Development Secretary has also asked the United Nations to jump and support this mission full thrust. On June 15, 2006 Uganda has given Joesph Kony and his commanders until July to surrender.
Sudanese People's Liberation Army, Henry Oryem Okello, the State Minister for International Affairs said, "We genuinely want to participate in the talks."
It is believed that Sudan's Vice-President Riek Machar recently met with Joseph Kony to mediate the end of the war to Kony. What? Machar couldn't secretly reveal the good news as to where Kony is? I just love that kind of loyalty. This makes me physically sick and to add President Museveni has agreed to offer security guarantees to Kony if he responds within 60 days. Hello? Someone please help me out here? I'm not sure what planet Museveni is on but a guarantee of safety for Kony is the last thing he needs. Ten's of thousands have been killed, raped, molested and two million people can't go home.
It sounds to me that to end this war means Kony gets to runs free in some protected hiding place for the rest of his life. Let's hope that isn't the justice these leaders are standing up for. Kony doesn't have the financial support he needs to stay in hiding for too long. It's high time for the United Nations gets busy and takes this guy out before some compromise happens, where Kony lives without his deeds paid.
North Korea-Missile test
Korea will do what it pleases. They might do a missile test with 2 long range Taepodong's and if they do the test is just a test and so be it. The worst case scenario if they hit American land, we will have UN support and North Korea will loose quickly. In reality land, this missile test is just one way that North Korea can wave its little finger at the world and display its puffy ego. North Korea desires to rattle the nations but this missile test will just be a test, to see what they can get away with.
Iran-
I agreed with Democratic Rep. John Murtha on his comment about our Iraqi withdrawal, "Stay and we'll pay. It's time to redeploy." The United States needs to offer a date! Once that date is delivered, then began teaching the Iraqi people through their media, some of the realistic expectations that they need to be aware of after our withdrawal; and then we high tail outta there.
Celebrity Quotes-
Britney Spears said, "I don't allow anyone to change me," referring to her marriage and everything else. Hey Britney, your comment is the number one reason why marriages don't work. If you love me, you will except me as I am, is also a personal favorite of mine. Divorce craves those delicious little tidbits of insight.
Another celebrity described her relationship with a married man as- "All I can say is we did not get together during a marriage." In hind sight during a marriage...means you're legally married but if separated, your not married. Maybe we can add that option to the non-existence of a marriage, so to by-pass any guilt. I'm tellin yah, I am starting to beleive it too. A marriage document really is just a piece of paper.

Its interesting all the thoughts of the world and the USA involvement...I still think its good against evil and no other concept. Korea is a REAL HOT SPOT....I have been reading and studying the issues there for years...and I spent two years (tours) there with the US Army. The North Koreans are starving and have nothing to lose...so as bad as it sound they will do something stupid and the US Marines will land there by the end of this year....over nukes...The second issue is China...they are developing a new satellite system FOR WAR...and they want Taiwan...they are flexing their muscles so look for them to get into the mix. Iran is as a REAL HOT SPOT as any of them....We pull out of Iraq now and taliban and al queda from Syria and Iran take back what we took...the area is unstable Israel will either nuke Iran or attack by air and the USA will be back over there very quickly. So pulling out now (too early) is a disaster beyond anyones thoughts....So many USA citizens have no military knowledge of SERIOUS USA threats....only those with high level security clearances have ALL the FACTS and KNOWLEDGE...so to make a decision based on a news clip or tv show would doom us all....If you cant have some faith in the government and the system its like becoming a vigiliante without laws rules or a court....and if we do that by pulling out we are doomed....I will stick with the facts the high level security FBI and CIA know more than we do...so if we head into a new place or stay in Iraq its for a reason....to change and listen to the liberal airheads is defeat and death to all americans.. Pick or choose live or die....????
