The Flag is an American symbol that's worth saving

I wrote an article on the value of the National Anthem being sung in only English. The burning of the flag is of the same nature. ALL in time gets picks away, slowing diminishing our pride for this country. I left the link below and a small excerpt from that article.

Some things must remain unblemished; the American Flag, Our Constitution and our National Anthem. These stand for ALL and these stand for our heritage. Our nation was based on good ideals for all man kind.  "ALL" is represented by our national anthem if sung in only English.  Lets keep the ideals real by honoring the Americans symbols before America becomes less than its foundation. Ideals represented in symbols stands for us all, even when we have failed them.

I agree with what yousay here.  Further, it’s unfortunate that many American youth today know little or nothing about the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.  Our founding documents embody the virtues handed down from our Nation’s forefathers; the core principles of our democracy and the very ideals our friends and family died to defend.  The men and women we honor today have done their duty. It is our turn to commit ourselves to guarding and preserving those ideals.  The misguided political correctness that has escalated in this country purports that there is no right or wrong.  Teaching our children and grandchildren about the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the sacrifice our veterans made to defend them would prove the existence of right and wrong.  We should further reinforce the importance of our flag -- the values it represents here and abroad.

Great post Raven.  I have served my country for 30 years and have found the meaning of freedom sacrifice love.  Most people in the USA have not a clue as to what they really do have to have the freedom to speak opinions openly, to have the freedom of religeon, to vote, to serve, to be protected from evil and terror that surrounds us.  God bless the USA and all who lead and serve!!!
