RebukeTheWorld News Briefing 8/21/06: Kony, Katrina, Wiretapping, dark angel in the universe
Does Joseph Kony have vacation plans?
Reading between the lines can be considered a stroke of luck if you end up being right but somehow I think its more than just luck this time. I think Joseph Kony is looking for the land of milk and honey. Joseph Kony might be abandoning his army, wife and children very soon. According to allafrica.com, Kony is giving his soldiers permission to marry his wives as long as they take care of his children. He has friends overseas and feels safe in choosing America as a potential nesting ground. How foolish can that man be? America is the last place he should choose to live because were a nation where democracy has freed our voices up. The only place Kony could live safely is next door to the Amish who don't read the daily news. I'm sure his lame excuse in not feeling safe in Uganda, could convince his army that he must leave in order to keep the LRA movement alive. His clones of evil will sit in the hot Uganda sun, taking care of Konys wife and children, while they receive mail here and there on how difficult his vacation life has been. September 19, is the deadline date for the LRA cessation's. Kony wants his men to be able to roam free anywhere in Uganda but the government wants the LRA army in one place all together. The geography in compromise isn't important its those lifted warrants, wiping away their crimes and running free that will only create another Kony wanna-be. Kony and his men have done so many evil crimes against men and Kony sees no wrong.
There is some good news. The thousands and thousands of people that Kony murdered, the martyr in Kony has forgiven them all. Kony says, "The different leaders from the North and east have assured me that they and thelocals have totally forgiven LRA for all the atrocities committed and in the same way, we the LRA, have also forgiven them for all they have wronged us. Our biggest fear now is the way Ugandans from other parts of the country would handle us when we go back to Uganda," Kony explained.
What does racisim and Hurricane Katrina have in common?
Young said, "I think we may have erred in not paying enough attention to the potentially positive role of business and the corporate multinational community in seeking solutions to the problems of the poor." Raven responds-Yes, Mayor Young. We need to get a college education and re-teach the African American culture. If we choose to be poor than that's our fault and no-one else's.
Mount Soledad
Atheist Philip Paulson spent 17 years of his life trying to remove the cross at Mount Soledad. He lost. The land is now federal land and the historic monument will remain. I have a new adventure for Paulson. I'm sending him a letter about the countless monuments around the world because I'm not sure if he is aware. Hopefully, Paulson will at least agree that in his logic any monument with a religious tone must go down. Right? I will gladly pay out of my pocket a vacation trip for him so he can start counting monuments. Somehow, I think his cause is bigger than him but I can't be sure. He would get a good fight from lovers of religion, from lovers of history and lovers of art and his only backing would be men of selective reasoning, I only care about the crosses.

Our next president
I wrote an article on why I think there's a very good chance that Hillary Clinton could be our next president and Laura Bush agrees that a female president could happen soon. She said, "I think it will happen probably in the next few terms of the presidency in the United States." She would love to see Condoleessa Rice run and I agree. Sadly, America isn't quite ready for that. America maybe open to a woman running our nation but we're still centuries away from even an African American male leading this country.
Kim Pearson wrote a great article about how fear gave her wisdom. Its called Lovely, Dark and Deep. I loved it.
The Chocolate Virgin Mary got so much attention for chance, I thought I would offer my shot at chance. Don't you think this NASA picture looks like some big dark evil angel lurking out in the universe?

jeannie,
There appears to be a fundamentalist of some sort here, but I don't think it's Raven.
Raven,
I just wanted to say something about Philip Paulson, but got distracted when I read the comments thread. What I wanted to say was that all Paulson wants is for the Govenrment of the USA to adhere to the constitution.

And, another thing ... Bush uses fear and terror to manipulate people to do what he wants. His followers bomb and kill the innocent while he spouts ideologies to justify these murders. He ignores the rules of honorable warfare and considers himself above the law. But, since I'm a realist, I understand that it is unlikely that any court is likely to try him. And, other states have no interest in pressing the question because they would not want to acknowledge that their own leaders could be tried and convicted on similar theories, nor would they want to risk losing American aid or cooperation. World Bank research consistently confirms that civil wars rage endlessly because the leaders of poor countries are almost always immune to the suffering caused by their decisions, as they live comfortably off of the rewards of its brutality. Until leaders are not allowed to act with impunity, it seems unlikely that suffering (whether poverty, disease, or war…) will not be eliminated. Still, considering how the USA has worked to disrupt so many important international treaties lately, I would probably agree that it is not even helpful to attempt to criminalize such people, as they have too much ability to cause harm. Even though it is clearly more just. It is quite unfortunate really.

Mistakes were made. It seems to some those mistakes(NO NUKES), makes Bush an evil man. I disagree. I think it makes him human, flawed but really meant for the greater good.

By the way, Saddam Hussein is a dangerous world leader, but he is not nearly as dangerous to the USA and the world as is George W. Bush. If Mr. Bush really wanted to reduce the dangers to the USA, he would be advocating his own regime change instead of that of Saddam Hussein.
