 She would be correct that Americans shouldn't worry about the religion of presidential and other political candidates except for the breed we are now facing .

 

It's not whether an elected official is religious; it's how they use that belief.  If they are religious and their religion is personal and provides moral guidelines for them....so much the better. If they use religion as a club such as George Bush has, then they are no better that those religious tyrants who throughout history raped, pillaged and murdered millions in the name of God.  

 

When religion keeps emergency birth control off the market, abrogates a woman's right to control her own reproductive system, creates prejudice and bigotry against people of color and homosexuals or sends us into a holy war, then it should be curbed and, in my estimation, banned.   

 

Like most philosophies, religion can be good or bad. But often the good guys in religion put up with the bad guys for some reason. I say let's work together to get rid of the bad religious guys.  It ain't gonna be easy, for just as soon as someone mentions God most people pee their pants in fear.  Get over it and throw out the bad religious bums. If not, I can assure you decades of religious tyranny lie ahead for us and our kids and grand kids . Just watch Pakistan and other Islamic Republics. A country can go from law abiding religious folks to screaming terrorists over their religion. Don't let it happen here.
