Hearing The Ballad of the Green Berets

Armed Forces Day

17 May 2008

Today is a day of honor for those who have served. Freedom is not free. Many have paid the price with their lives or limb to ensure that Democracy stands. The fallen soldiers shall never be forgotten. Let us pray for those who are today in battle. We pray for all of those brave ones who fight for our liberty and the freedom of others with the courage of being America's Best. God Bless all of the men and women of our Armed Forces. For those who stand in harms way to assure liberty, our prayers are with you. You are America's Best.

Thank you for the kind, respectful words in my blog comments.  We both have something in common in that we both like to post great song links!
Please tell me more about yourself, where you live and if you served in the Armed Forces.   I was in Germany for 6 months and then in RVN for two long years-- Army Aviation, door gunner.  My Blog deals with helping other combat Vets deal with the greedy VA and Gov't who many times have their priorities mixed up... LOL.    i also try to lead people to the Lord Jesus Christ and the wonders of the Bible in these last days on the slippery slopes of the 'end times.'  My wife and I raise and train a |Katrina survivor Rottweiler who is a noble beast and so darn smart !   He is smarter than many people I know..LOL.

    Best Regards,

Great links, River... I didn't know that SSgt. Barry Sadler had died in 1989...I always loved his soldier ballads... brings tears to my eyes... he was a handsome young man in that uniform. He was only 49 when he died, I believe... so young. THanks for the links here... I haven't those songs in a very long time. I hope you are well. bea
