Pettitte Crosses the Rubicon

Sure, it might only be a symbolic advance, given the rude treatment that Grade 8 lefty starters are given in TBL, but considering where The Big P came from earlier in the year, we'll take it. Steve puts it like this:

With about 7/8 of games played:

Starters: Pretty good, not deep. 90 starts of 8+; 118 starts total: We may get 3-4 more starts each of the big 3.

NAME      TEAM Grade       starts  total

Zambrano  ChC   16 -53/22   30     30

Halladay  Tor   12 43/22    29     59

Pettitte  Hou    8 15/-11   31     90

Williams  NYM    3 22/-22   12    102

Ponson    StL    2 -22/14   16    118

Relievers: 60 innings of closer, 327 innings of 13+ (including a lefty), 500 innings of 8+ (and they're good 8s), including 2 lefties. Easily the best pre-draft bullpen we've ever had. And it includes some good YOUNG arms.

NAME     TEAM Grade        IP    Total

Soriano  Sea  19* -21/16   60.0  60.0

Downs    Tor  1/16* 11/-11 53.3 113.3

Hmmm.  Check that - Timlin is now a 6* (!!) because of his little adventure last night.
Weathers is up to a 14* though.
    And Downs to a 1/17*.
