Need advice

Can anyone recommend a photo editing program to me?  The one I had on my computer has expired and I am looking into purchasing a new one.  What do you have, do you like it, what can you do with it?

I also want one where I can add a copyright symbol to my photos.  Thanks for the help!

i use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9.  You can put a little symbol on your pictures with it, like this © Jane Fields 2008, by opening the text on the photo and pressing ALT 0169.

I use my psp for removing red eye, straightening pictures, brightening pictures, correcting the tint, making cool negative pictures, or black & white pictures or sepia which is also very cool and old looking.  I use it to organize my pictures, and to resize them when I have to upload somewhere where it says my pics are too large.  I can take a picture and turn it into a pencil drawing.   I use it to make collages like my vision board and put borders on pictures.  You can also blend photos, take a photo and cut it out and blend it into another photo.  You can distort photos to make yourself look taller or thinner and you can airbrush anything off of your face or someone right off of a picture.   Mostly I do picture things with it, though many people use it to make tags and art things with it.  I probably use 30% of what my psp does!!! I believe I paid 150 dollars for it about two years ago and I think its worth it.

I used to use ArcSoft, but a couple of computers later, I got Photo Explosion. I'm definitely not a photo person, but this is easy to use, inexpensive, and does what I want it to do.

For anyone who is serious about photography, I doubt that Photo Explosion would do the trick--for this amateur, it works well.
