Air Show
We had an air show here last weekend at the base. I LOVE air shows...those powerful jets racing thru the sky really get my heart beat up. The only thing I don't like is since it is a "free" event it usually draws a lot of less than desirable people. We call them townies or civies....short for town people and civilians. And they are usually totally unaware of things like manners, etiquette, respect, taste, tack, respect, lol...you get the idea. I know I am a bit of a snob and have grown less tolerable the older I get but some of these people were just down right scary.
It was a warm day ( really kinda hot ) so we saw a lot of townies barely dressed...bikini tops and no shirts on the men. On base that is NOT how military persons dress. It doesn't take a real high IQ to tell who is who. Gabby and I did a lot of people watching...and when I saw someone who really made me roll my eyes and or laugh I pretended I was taking her picture when I was really taking one of them. I know...I am bad. The pictures above are a couple I snapped.
Another thing I got a giggled out of was how people were huddled under the wings of the planes. Any little spot of shade and they were fighting over it. You will see that in the pics too. LOL

Ok, I have to ask....in the pic of the man & woman, is she pregnant & smoking??? Or am I seeing a baby bump that's not there? I can't tell. And then again, if she's not pregnant, she should really think about the baby the man next to her is (obviously) carrying. Wow...what a baby bump. :)

I figured you were there!! I am NOT a fan of air shows or car races -- TOO LOUD, hot, and dirty (races, anyway) for moi! LOL
Man, that girl with the cigarette hanging out of her mouth looked like Britney Spears to me! What a great place for people watching, though, huh? It was a HOT, HOT weekend - I imagine you guys were sweating your butts off, huh?

ROFL! I am a "snob" too.....nothing wrong with that! I agree - what's up with the outfits? Duh.....remember there's kids around and the fact that some things should not been seen!!!

Parks are the same way there hon. You will have dads with a cig hanging out of their mouths and everything else as well. You kind of want to go up to them and ask do you think that's appropiate dress around the kids..
I haven't been to an airshow in years. Right now I have to get the kittens taken care of and out of Pickles crate to go somewhere like that. The sound of the jets would scare the life out of her. As for the Shade, I've always been amazed these people live in the state of Fla. When you live somewhere like that your aware of sunscreen, hats, anything to keep you from getting burnt. Yet it never fails there are more lobsters running around than not. (Hugs) Indigo
