Oh My Goodness!!!!!

A few months ago when the weather was really cool at night I would sleep with the windows open. The pond is right outside my window and all night long I would hear the strangest sound...I thought it was the ducks but a friend told me it was the bullfrogs. She was right...this is what they sound like.

I sorta got used to the bullfrogs singing...until now! About 3 nights ago the sound changed to something different (sounds more like an American toad) and so so so LOUD! So loud that I can hear it with all the windows closed AND with my clock radio on. (I even stuffed tissue in my ears and it didn't help) Yes...I have had to turn the radio on to try and drown them out. LOL...drown them out. Take a listen to the clip below and try and imagine it about 100 times louder. I am going crazy!

Now you know why I'm not a toad OR frog lover. I used to hear the when we went camping at the lake. I wanted to take a shotgun out. LOL Sorry they're disturbing your sleep. Ugh. That's why I have a box fan about 2 feet away. I  can't sleep with ANY noise. Dogs, cats, parties, etc.

I don't know how you can sleep without the A/C.  It''s not the heat (it's the humidity)  Luckiy we don't have a Retention pond too close~I noticed the one that services the neighborhood is practically dry anyway.  Hate to tell you this, but once the rains start the croaking gets worse : /  Both the toads and the frogs will be going at it~LOL  Florida!  hugs,  Bethe

The second one is the ones I hear all the time around here..but they arent right by my window so it is a nice sound accompanied by the crickets. Get some good earplugs! ;) Kelly
