Star-Spotting and Coming Attractions
This truly is the most exciting city on earth. It is non-stop action around the clock. And every week we'll capture all the vicarious thrills of Vegas right here -- plus give you a sneak peak of coming attractions you won't want to miss.
This past weekend at Caesars Palace nightclub PURE, Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil sang Girls Girls Girls with the stunning PussyCat Dolls on stage and as they romped on overhead swings wearing the scantiest of sexy garters and stocking outfits. Vince's gorgeous wife, Lia, joined me in applause that wouldn't stop. Then the three of us sampled Vinc's new line of cabernet and chardonnay wines from his new Napa vineyard, simply titled ''V.'' I quickly gave it 10 out 10 on the approval scale. Vince leaves this week for Germany to start a 10-week leg of the group's sold-out European tour.
Star chefs are akin to Hollywood royalty here. The red carpet is already rolled out for David Burke, Mario Battali and TAO, all opening new restaurants this fall at The Venetian just as the hit 'Blue Man Group' jumps over from the Luxor and 'Phantom of the Opera' readies its opening night. Local Hard Rock hero Kerry Simon from Simon Kitchen and Bar might well be celebrating mid-month when he installs TVs in his jetset restaurant for customers to see if he won the newest Food Network's 'Iron Chef America' contest. If the Sports Book will take it -- bet on Kerry to be the new champ!
THE POOLS ARE OPEN: Bronzed bodies in bikinis are the attraction as the mega resorts open their pools for the new season. Snoop Dog kicked off SKIN at The Palms... every Sunday starting Memorial Day weekend it's the new NIRVANA at Green Valley Ranch and old favorite REHAB returns at the Hard Rock. Also, madcap Jeff Beacher brings his out-of-control Madhouse comedy-variety party every Saturday to the Hard Rock thru the summer starting June 4, and he promises me his bevy of Beacher babes will be poolside.
Watch for NBC's newest reality series 'I Wanna Be A Hilton,' starring Paris and Nicky's mom Kathy. It debuts June 21 and is set to make a headline name of Yvette Brown, a 26-year-old British blonde who was in the lineup of the Golden Nugget's 'Spirit of the Dance.' If you thought Omarosa was a witch on Donald Trump's 'The Apprentice,' just watch these girls battle to be a wealthy socialite -- with Yvette's tart tongue leading the charge!
YES: At the new Wynn Resort Hotel lounge Lure it does cost $12,000 for one bottle of Courvoisier L'Esprit and $99 a glass for the Goddess Elixar, a margharita made from five-year aged tequila at Treasure Island's Isla Kitchen!!!!! Nothin's too good or expensive for Vegas high rollers.
Las Vegas prepares for its official 100th Birthday salute with the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert on July 2 (The only reason I managed to get two tickets for the sold out concert was because I have to go on stage for a TV-spot before the show). A slew of stars will be here this weekend for Memorial Day. My picks include Alicia Keys for three nights at MGM Grand and comedy star David Spade at the Mirage also for three nights. My favorite though? I'm picking Rod Stewart's knockout daughter Kimberly. The pouty blonde who becomes Paris Hilton's new Simple Life partner will play with the outrageous Pussycat Dolls at PURE inside Caesars on Sun. May 29.
