EXCLUSIVE! Inside the Hilton Sisters' duelling parties, plus all the New Year's Eve-nts!

Mother Nature threatened to wreck the dueling Hilton sisters' New Year's Eve takeover of the Las Vegas Strip -- but at the last moment, the 46 mph winds and 01" of rainfall miraculously halted as Paris and Nicky kissed and shook hands before and after battling for title of Midnight Queen.

The Hilton hoteliers have never posessed a resort on the 3 miles of prized desert Strip frontage, but on this wild windy wet weekend, the heiresses took the town in toto! The lipsticked and lingeried ladies each hosted midnight countdowns at rival Vegas nightclubs: Paris at TAO and Nicky at PURE. They dueled and danced from dusk till dawn, each attracting nearly $1 million apiece in ticket sales from 4,000 phenomenal fans paying $200 a ticket to peruse, paw and photo them in trancelike torrents.

The hellzapoppin Hilton hubris was a perfect showbiz soap-opera: Would there be a catfight? Would the sisters threaten to never speak to each other again? And which sister would get proud parents Rick and Kathy Hilton's at their party? Would Paris make a split-second decision and get engaged to new beau Stavros Niarchos? Would Nicky drag longtime beau Kevin Connelly (HBO's 'Entourage') to a wedding chapel? Would they be too partied out to even show up for the witching hour countdowns? Would they rally for a midnight marathon of kissing? Would Niarchos be allowed back into a Vegas casino after trashing a Hard Rock room on his last visit (mere weeks ago) that cost him a nearly six-figure charge on his Amex card to repair and redecorate? Would they still be standing after their non-stop 72-hour assault attack on America's Sin City?Your brave blogmaster endured the equivalent of combat duty to keep cozy with Paris and Nicks both at The Venetian and Caesars Palace (including struggling thru a sea of 300,000 sardined Strip-standing revelers during the midnight fireworks). But in all fairness, I declare the Hilton hullabaloo a triumphant tie and delicious draw!

Amidst the $500,000 pyrotechnic parade of over 40,000 skyrockets launched from ten hotel rooftops, that lasted exactly 8min, 7secs, Paris even found time to talk to me about love and marriage, and asked for our help in titling her new CD, which she vows will even set my toes a-tapping!

Read on fans, because -- way ahead of anybody else, anywhere else and only on AOL -- we have all the answers, the intimate stories, and the up-close EXCLUSIVE photos in our torrid tale of the ultimate desert dustup! Here's the Hilton hour-by-hour and other celebrity chronologies that made this weekend's wildness the most unforgettable New Year's yet.

Thursday After a week-long vacation on Maui in-between back-to-back Vegas visits, all the Hiltons roar into town. Paris takes up residence in the 34th floor Presidential suite at the Venetian. Nicky naturally checks into the supersuites at Caesars Palace. Hilton honchos and proud parents Rick and Kathy also settle in and do dinner at Aquaknox in The Venetian. I learn that Paris' boyfriend Stavros was also in Hawaii for the holidays, flew in his sister to meet Paris, and the two gals wound up dancing together at the Grand Wailea Resort's Tsunami nightclub until Niarchos himself stepped in to spin Paris around, turn her upside down and kiss her, to applause from Nicky and Kevin.

In advance of their headlining show Friday, the Black Eyed Peas have a "Let's Get It Started" bash at TAO, gearing up for the biggest weekend of the year. Partying with them is multi-platinum artist Kid Rock, world's #1 DJ Tiesto (both in town for their own NYE headlining events) and NFL hunk Terrell Owens of the Philadelphia Eagles. Over in the Bellagio, Cedric the Entertainer and poker prince Phil Ivey break open the bubbly at the
rival Light nightclub, while Yankees ace Alex Rodriguez dines next door at Fix...

Friday Paris is "trapped" in her suite with back-to-back media interviews promoting her Jan. 24 CD release. She calls down to pal Michael Boychuck's Canyon Ranch Salon for hair and makeup assistance for the overheating TV cameralights. Nicky takes mom Kathy off to lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Spago restaurant while they plan out New Years Eve dinner there for 33 friends! Meantime, The Palms is beginning to turn into celebrity central as well: 'American Idol' winner Kelly Clarkson has nabbed the 'Real World' suite for herself and a gaggle of galpals, while b-ball barons Chris Webber and Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers collect the keys for George Maloof's already infamous Hardwood Suite for their own New Years Eve party.

Friday night, rumors of rabid rivalry between the Hilton sisters are rested when both bring boyfriends to dine double-duo at the brand new Stack restaurant in the Mirage. Later, they are joined by 'The O.C.' star Benjamin McKenzie and TV trickster Jamie Kennedy for a look at Grand Opening night of the neighboring new Jet disco. Another new nightery, the tantalizing Tryst at WYNN, attracts Ice-T and his gorgeous wife Coco, all of Matchbox 20(playing two Hard Rock weekend shows) and slugger Jason Giambi. Rap's reigning royal Kanye West checks into the Aladdin and greets casino fans on the DL. Supermodel Linda Evangelista canoodles over champagne at Light and Dallas Cowboy Keyshawn Johnson dines at the Palms' N9NE with Kid Rock and Terrell Owens. Before bedtime, Shannon Elizabeth, Keenan and Damon Wayans pal up with Nicky Hilton for long-lasting nightcaps at PURE and an advance scope of NYEve plans...

Saturday (New Years Eve) 11 AM: Nicky and Shannon admit they are in desperate need of sleep, but promise to valiantly soldier on. Sleepy-faced and squinting red eyed they call for canisters of coffee and join 83 amateur, celebrity and professional poker players for a grand opening tournament (sponsoredby PURE) in the new Caesars Palace 14,500 sq. ft. Poker Room, decorated by 11 original LeRoy Neiman paintings depicting the 40 year history of Caesars. Connolly, actor George Eads (CBS' 'CSI') and NSYNC's Lance Bass join players at the 63 tournament tables. Hot movie mama Jennifer Tilly, who was the 2005 World Series of Poker Ladies Champion, is there with poker prince boyfriend Phil "The Unabomber" Laak.Celine Dion's manager/husband Rene Angeli tries to stay hidden behind dark sunglasses, studying his cards, but informs me that rather than brave the brouhaha at PURE (where they are investors with André Agassi, his wife, Steffie Graf and Shaquille O'Neal) they will be watching the Strip fireworks from a private suite at Caesars with all their families, flown in from as far away as Montreal. Watching all the action is my friend, new Caesars President Gary Selesner, whose relationship with the resort began long long ago when he stayed here covering boxing matches as a sports writer. "We couldn't think of a better way to debut our new poker room," he told me. "[The game's] had an incredible rise in popularity in recent years thanks to TV shows. We will have televised tournaments monthly from here starting with NBC's 'Heads Up Championship' in March and ESPN's 'World Series of Poker' getting underway in April."

At 6PM, Paris is running so far behind schedule that she postpones her hair coloring appointment by 24 hours and settles for the girls from Canyon Ranch giving her just an upsweep in her Venetian suite. She orders dinner from room service for her ever-growing group. Meantime, over at Caesars, Nicky and Kevin, proud parents, Rick and Kathy, and Ben McKenzie and Ashton Holmes in tow, settle in at Spago with a 2+ hour-long memorable meal of Maine scallops with hearts of palm, porcini mushroom minestrone soup with shaved truffles, and choices from Dover sole, organic chicken or kobe steak crafted by starchef Wolfgang Puck and his Vegas partner David Robins...

Speaking of running behind schedule, Shannon -- who is set to celebrate at yet another rival nightclub, Tangerine in Treasure Island -- tells me: "If I don't get some sleep before tonight, I am going to have to start learning how to countdown from 10to 1! I'm that tired I could count myself to sleep." Recently divorced (but still sporting a diamond on her left ring finger), Shannon says she's only ever won $10,000 for charity once in her part-time poker games... but in the end, still sleepless at 8.35 PM, she wins the $55,000 pot with a six of hearts on the turn against Chad Nordenstrom. Not bad for a $2,000+ $200 buy-in!

From there, Shannon heads directly to TI where, having skipped her dinner reservation, she orders a mozzarella caprese salad and eggplant in red sauce (she's a veggie) from room service...

I take my New Years Eve trio of temptresses to dinner at Wolfgang's other restaurant Postrio in The Venetian celebrating with Michael and Karen Boychuck their 5th wedding anniversary. Yes, they married New Years Eve 2000 and are still happy with their last minute decision six years hence. We joke that possibly Paris would do the same this year, since anything is possible in this town of temptations -- New Year's Eve being the 2nd busiest day for visitors exchanging vows in Vegas (with Valentine's a natural number 1). At an adjoining table, Ice-T and Coco, and at another, my longtime friend, TAO co-owner Mark Packer is entertaining 30 of his New York friends and investor partners who flew in for the festivities. The entire talk of the night everywhere you turn is about the battle between Paris and Nicky. Would PURE, celebrating its 1st birthday, beat out TAO -- which has risen to rival status after only 4 months open?

Before we'd all find out, I meet gorgeous 7-time Grammy award winner Toni Braxton. One of the most successful R'n'B singers ever, Toni (right) is doing a private concert and clock countdown for 1200 invited VIP guests of The Venetian, and I'd been asked to mc the show and introduce her. From there, two security guards get us through the unbelievable crowds trying to get to the 42,000 sq.ft TAO restaurant and nightclub complex (eventually the fire dept. forbade any more guests, and a wait thatlasted six hours through the night ensued). We slither, shove and snake our way to the dance floor, where we discovered Detroit Lions star Rodney Peet and his gorgeous actress wife Holly Robinson ('21 Jump Street') awaiting Paris' arrival.

Around 11 PM, Shannon arrives at Tangerine with 12 of her closest friends, wearing a saucy flowered corset top, black skirt and sexy knee-high boots. She gets settled in a private VIP pod and begin drinking one of her favorites, a Malibu rum and pineapple cocktail (her second round is an Amaretto sour). After she visits with Lance Bass and other friends, she makes her way to the Burlesque bar where she wishes legendary DJ Grandmaster Flash a happy birthday. Grandmaster Flash starts the countdown at 20 and Shannon joins him in counting from 10 on down. Two sexy cocktail servers spray down the crowd with Dom Perignon as the clock struck midnight and Shannon cheers in the New Year.

Down the Strip, Nicky & Kevin arrive at the 33,000 sq.ft PURE nightclub at 11:35 PM and began their party atop the dance floor in one of the raised VIP sections. Nicky wears a very flattering blue dress while Kevin is in a black suit and white button-down shirt. All the security, wait staff and cocktail servers are dressed in "pure" white -- men in tailed tuxedos and ladies in white mini-dresses -- for the night. As the New Year approaches, Nicky and Kevin pick up a microphone, stand where all could see them (up to the glass which separates the dance floor from the VIP section) and lead the club in the final 10 second countdown. As 2006 is ushered in, bottles of Dom Perignon flowed throughout the VIP section as Nicky & Kevin raise their glasses, yell HAPPY NEW YEAR and then enjoy their first kiss of 2006.

Meantime at TAO, a drama is developing. Ring announcer Michael Buffer is inthe 3rd floor nightclub toannounce Paris, but is left to handle the 10-1 countdown solo. Paris is 2 floors down in a back private dining room area with her friends and a slightly sulking Stavros. A month ago, the 19-year-old Niarchos who has since shed his long locks for a shorter style, had beenaccused of wrecking a Hard Rock casino room causing nearly $100,000's worth of damage after a party spree (Remember our liquor laws here prevent under 21's from imbibing). Licensing authorities had warned casinos all over town not to let the apparent violation be repeated. Paris does the countdown in the restaurant, but isn't leaving for the nightclub unless the Greek shipping heir is on her arm (and nibbling on her neck). The club can't run the risk of him stretching for a spirit! In the end a compromise is reached with a champagne glass filled with orange juice, and the couple sets off up a labyrinth of winding halls and hidden staircases. Every now and again they stop for a cuddly kiss, but finally they reach the dance floor, and all hell breaks loose. I haven't seen anything like it since I once rescued Farrah Fawcett to safety when out of control fans mobbed her at the Cannes Film Festival. Paris is hot, hot, and hotter. She handles it well and only gets irritated very briefly when the frenzied fans' cell-camera flashes blind her! Paris dances around the tables in her VIP area alongside the roped off dance floor, kicks and bursts some of the 2006 pink balloons she requested be dropped at midnight. She jumps atop her banquette and joins partygoers dancing on a divider wall. For two happy hours she hugs and kisses friends, blows Happy New Year kisses to partygoers and hugs onto Stavros.

Outside on the Strip, the wind gusts and scattered showers have pyrotechics professor Phil Grucci on pins and needles. Then they clear and calm, dropping to just under 10mph, and the Vegas fire marshal gives a thumbs-up for launch just minutes before midnight. The spectacular skyrockets mark the end of the city's year-long centennial celebration. With a theme title of 'Vegas Through the Years,' the soundtrack includes Vegas singing legends Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Tom Jones and Sammy Davis Jr. The ten hotel rooftops (Excalibur,MGM, MonteCarlo, Bally's, Flamingo, Venetian, Treasure Island, Stardust,Circus-Circus and The Stratosphere) used as firing points for the tourbillions, comets, mines, peonies, chrysanthemums... became neon strobe piano keys to accompany Liberace's "Chopsticks" and Sinatra's "LuckBe A Hilton Tonight" (Sorry- that should read "Lady" -- blame it on thebubbles!) Says Hizzoner Mayor Oscar Goodman: "Vegas is like no other city in the world. We' re ending our Centennial year with a bang, literally. The magnitude of this display pays tribute to the greatness of Vegas and is truly one huge unbeatable extravaganza." Grucciadds simply: "Vegas was in its finest glory."

My pal, the mayor of mirth and merrymaking, is actually downtown, leading a toast with visitors to the 10th New Years Eve at the Fremont Street Experience, with an attempt to break the Guinness world record using over 200 cases of Beaulieu Vineyards California chardonnay. City officials will tell me they estimate 14,000 people participate, thus breaking the previous record held by a Japanese sake company with only 11G drinkers. We'll know for sure in about a week, when Guinness accountants verify affidavits, finalize the counts of the plastic glasses and wine bottles, plus examine TV footage! Fans of Cheap Trick, Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors helped celebrate after lining up six hours before their joint concert there...

At 12:01, Nicky and Kevin rush up to PURE's outdoor patio deck where they are joined by Rick and Kathy and the immortal Stevie Wonder for the incredible half-million dollar fireworks show above the Las Vegas Strip. (PURE sits right in the middle, providing the best views) The party continues on the terrace and in front of a massive ice sculpture, Kevin and Nicky pop the cork on one of the largest bottles of Cristal in the world, a Nebuchadnezzar (there are only five such bottles in existence -- and I'm proud to say I have one from the 2000 vintage!). The massive vessel is equivalent to 17 normal sized champagne bottles and worth over $100,000. While everyone marvels at the champagne, Nicky and Kevin slice the PURE white anniversary cake decorated with sparklers and $30,000 worth of Swarovski Crystals. Then everybody returns to party the night away in the main room of the nightclub, where I finally join the revelers including George Eads and my friends Faye Resnick and Jeff Beacher (Beacher's Madhouse). Kevin graciously grabs glasses of champagne and hands them over the glass barrier to club goers on the dance floor.

After his headlining set at the Aladdin, Kanye West makes an unplanned visit to Curve there, where he performs the countdown. Kid Rock does the honors at Jet,  while Hootie and The Blowfish serenade The Silverton, DJ Tiesto entertains 8,000 disco-maniacs at the Orleans Arena and DJ Sizzahandz trips the turntables at Rain in The Palms.

Back at TAO, Paris tells me exclusively that her romance is going along nicely: "Yes, I'm in love, but I'm too young to think about it any further than that." So I said that scotched rumors of any runaway marriage. "We're not even getting engaged," she agreed, no doubt mindful of her previous engagement going south. "It's very important right now that I stick to my New Year's resolution and concentrate on my work and continue developing everything. There'll come a right time to slow down on work and concentrate on my personal life." Paris confirmed that on her recent visit to Vegas prior to their Hawaii hideaway holiday she'd finished mixing her new CD at George Maloof's new Studio at the Palms, making it the recording facility's debut disc when it's out January 24! "Its the greatest" said Paris, her eyes lighting up with glee as she tweaked me: "Robin, even you'll be dancing to it. But we haven't completely fixed on its title yet. It will either be 'Strictly Blonde' or 'Seriously Blonde.' Which one do you think? And I don't know whether to add the B word that rhymes with witch as part of the title." You can email us your thoughts on that trying titillating task to robinsvegas@aol.com  and I'll pass on your observations... Around 2:30 AM, Paris makes her way into PURE from TAO to join the rest of her family at almost the exact time Shannon Elizabeth arrives from her Tangerine to-do with DJ Grandmaster Flash. Also celebrating there are NBA great Dominique Wilkins and NFL stars Terrell Owens, Ray Buchanan, Ray Crockett, Peerless Price and Champ Bailey. But the night is far from over!

Sunday PURE Nightclub honchos Robert Frey and Stevie Dee arrange another fully-catered surprise afterparty in Nicky's suite at Caesars Palace. Why? Not necessarily by way of thanks to the Hilton girl for a great event, nor because the relative security of PURE's VIP area wasn't enough. As it turns out, we've learned the private party is to protect them from having to let the notoriously under-age Stavros into PURE! Management determines Stavros' ID is fake (either that, or they read Luxe Life!) and refuse to let him into the club. And Paris won't go without him. Come the dawn, both sisters I can safely report are still going strong at 6:30 AM! Twelve hours later, as the rest of us hurdle hangovers and headaches, Paris finally gets her hair back into beautiful blonde thanks to colorist-to-the-stars Michael Boychuck, salon director of Canyon Ranch. From there, Paris --wearing a new dress designed by her sister -- takes Stavros back to the "scene of the crime" at the Hard Rock Hotel, where owner Harry Morton "officially forgives" the heir to the Greek shipping fortune for his trashed suitethere last month, and hosts the couple to dinner at NOBU Japanese restaurant and drinks after at Body English nightclub (hopefully more OJ for Stavros).

Meantime, Vince Vaughn ('Wedding Crashers') jets into town with new love Jennifer Aniston to mc a one-night-only Wild West Comedy show at Mandalay Bay! And what happens after the show? Jennifer and Vince hit Ivan Kane's 40 Deuce Burlesque joint, and Jennifer gets up on stage for a little sexy shimmy -- to the delight of Vince, and the audience who didn't even know she was hiding in the club!

Will it ever end? Well, yes, unfortunately, as we have to hand Paris over to Los Angeles today (Monday), where she'll shoot her music video before week's end and everyone else will try to return to normal (with TAO and Body English management probably wondering if the liquor licensing commisioners are going to question them about young Stavros)...

Is that possible after all this chaotic insanity? I trust I've fulfilled my task of giving you the minute-by-minute rundown of Vegas' biggest ever New Years Eve weekend. I think you'll agree it was fair to call it a tie between the sassy sexy sisters' soirees!  Time for me now to recuperate with a brief 24-hour break -- You need a holiday to recover from this holiday! Happy New Year, everybody, and we'll see you again, back to normal, on Wednesday!

Cheers,
RL
