Pam Anderson, Big Boxing and Celeb Gridlock

Warning! Expect our city to sizzle, sweat and come apart at its sexy seams this weekend. It’s the ultimate weekend of attractions and in my seven years of living here, I’ve never seen such a star-studded collision in one 48-hour jam-packed jubilee. Three heavyweight attractions will compete head-to-head and a 4th event knocking on the door ain’t bad either! Let’s break it all down for you.

Bust in Show
Just ‘cos we all love her, we’ll start with pop-culture icon Pamela Anderson. The busty blonde actress/model/cover girl will raise temperatures hotter than August triple digits when she joins the scandalous Pussycat Dolls for a one-night only appearance to celebrate their first anniversary at Pure in Caesars Palace. It was one year ago that Desperate housewife Eva Longoria hosted the premiere unveiling. Since then Nicollete Sheridan (pictured below), Willa Ford -- plus singers Kanye West and Busta Rhymes have joined the eight tantalizing temptresses for their purr-formances.

Our favorite blonde bombshell will make her debut right on the stroke of midnight Saturday. I’ve been promised by the nightclub’s management that however crowded, however packed, however crazed it all becomes, Luxe Life will have a purr-fect pussycat-photo of the historic seamed-stockings and suspenders saucy striptease. Incidentally, Pamela’s on-off beau Kid Rock who was set to appear in concert at Rain in the Palms on Sat., April 29, has sold out so fast he’s added another show for Sun., April 30. Pamela has tentatively promised to pop in. Pamela will also be back before then on April 21 to wear a hardhat for the groundbreaking of the third condo high-rise block of Panorama Towers overlooking the Strip where she’s bought an apartment.

Sworn Enemies
Perhaps the ultimate showdown though takes place four hours earlier when "Sworn Enemies" Floyd Mayweather Jr. pounds it out against powerful Zab Judah in the Thomas & Mack Center. Sports books here are calling it "the fight of the year". Floyd is currently the WBC super lightweight champion and was named WBC’s 2005 Fighter of the Year. Judah from Brooklyn is a three-time world champion with a 34-3 record.

Top Rank President Bob Arum who works here with hotel mogul Steve Wynn and Caesars Palace to co-sponsor the anticipated bout said, "Fight fans have been clamoring for this for years. It will be one of the most exciting and riveting matches of our time."

Every time Floyd steps in a ring, fans wait to see if his "Pretty Face" will get cut or bruised. He’s 35-0 with 24 KOs and has never had his face marked, but this is going to be the toughest challenge of his career. Watch for Don King to be front-and-center as a co-promoter of the battle for Judah’s IBF welterweight title which has scalper tickets hitting the $2,500+ mark! The fighters will each walk away with big bucks -- Floyd with $5 million and Zab with $1 million. Although that’s not as much as their original payday was scheduled to be because of Zab’s Jan. 7 loss in Madison Square Garden to contender Carlos Baldomir.

Maxim(um) Overdrive
Can things get any better and bolder? Yes sir! Maxim is taking over the super-swank Tryst nightclub at Wynn on Saturday night for the ultimate party. To mark its 100th issue, 100 cover girl models will be attending a blow-out birthday cake bash. Only VIPs are being allowed in until 1AM – but then tourists and local residents alike can join the fun weekend. It will also include a rock ‘n’ roll poker tournament hosted by rocker Dave Navarro (expect his wonderful wife Carmen Elektra to be alongside) and poker pros Johnny Chan (pictured) and Chris Moneymaker.

Wait, There’s More
Those are the big three that will have Strip traffic in cataclysmic convulsions tomorrow night. Fortunately, the fourth blockbuster takes place tonight. The legendary Queen rock group with Paul Rodgers at the MGM Grand with fans of the British masters of music flying in from as far away as New York for the rare privileged concert. And, as if that’s not enough, legendary piano man Billy Joel will entertain the next night in a double blockbuster attraction! What an extraordinary weekend! Hard to believe there’s even more excitement afoot but I’ll reveal more weekend musts a little later in Robin’s Royal Rundown.

‘White Trash With Money’
Meantime I get to spend an hour this afternoon with country king Toby Keith because tonight, for two-hours starting at 7PM, he will introduce the recorded songs from his brand new CD, ‘White Trash With Money.’ Then at 9.30PM, he’ll meet and greet fans and then at 10:15PM, he’ll do a live acoustic performance -- all to take place at his I Love this Bar and Grill at Harrah’s. He’ll even stay in Vegas through the weekend to personally sell the first copies of his album when it’s allowed to go on sale at midnight -- from his retail store at the resort!

From the little advance word I’ve heard, expect a big surprise. Toby may well be country’s #1 star but this new album will begin his cross-over from country to mainstream -- part of his personal fun of shocking folks. We’ll be certain to talk about that and you’ll get the full scoop next week in Luxe Life right here -- so don’t miss a single edition. Meantime, Toby’s "Greatest Hits 2" CD which was released in November is just about to go triple-platinum!!

Dear John
How can I not make special mention to my friend John Melendez from the Tonight Show? The former "Stuttering John" from the Howard Stern radio show was my fellow cast mate on "I’m a Celebrity -- Get me Out of Here" when we were "stranded" inside Australia’s dangerous rain forest of snakes, spiders, scorpions and other slithering swine for the ABC-TV reality show. We became good friends and I’m happy to say the friendship has continued. So I’m doubly-delighted that he’ll be the comedy headliner for two shows at The Palms Saturday night. A regular on Comedy Central, John will get a special introduction from Playboy’s Tiffany Granath and then perform at both 8PM and 10.30PM. I guarantee you will be laughing out loud and hold onto your sides before they split!

Girls, Girls, Girls
My friends, the sexy X-Girls have begun to spread their wings! This weekend, the curvy creatures and busty blondes are away in Colorado at the Ute Mountain Casino for two shows -- and then they really fly to do four shows at the end of the month in Santiago, Chile with guest Playmate Stacey Linde.

Their shows at the V Theater in the Aladdin’s Desert Passage continue so fans won’t be disappointed. Producer Angela Sampras told me she has not only added new X-Girls to handle the new expanded traveling shows but she’s also put new even hotter dance routines into the original stay home lineup. It turns out that talent scouts checking on Vegas shows are so wowed by the "sexiest show on the Strip" that they’ve started simply booking the dancers for the faraway destinations. Next week, we’ll have all the X-Girls here between their trips for a special Easter Bunny photo-layout to wish you all a Happy Easter holiday weekend.

Meantime, Angela and her new husband Matt Stabile have opened a new side-splitting Funny Business Comedy Club at the Aladdin’s Krave nightclub theater. Their vision is to bring veteran comedians together with up and comers. The comedy, singing and dancing is such an outrageous show that comedy king Jerry Lewis exclaimed, " It’s funnier here than I am."

Included is host Pudgy the Queen of Tease, saucy Carole Montgomery, Comedy Central’s Dave Russo and from Wayne Newton’s E! TV channel show The Entertainer, Joe Trammel -- also known as the ‘’Man of a Thousand Faces.’’ His miraculous nonstop rubber-face funnyman performance features some 75 costume changes and lip-sync parodies of everybody from Michael Jackson to Richard Simmons to President Clinton -- in just 15 minutes. You’ll be as out of breath as he must be with the electric energy.

The Rundown
Here’s Robin’s Royal Rundown for the other weekend activities shaking in Sin City:
  • Bob Dylan & Merle Haggard mix folk and country at the Aladdin Performing Arts Theatre tonight
  • Don McLean makes music at the Henderson Pavilion tomorrow evening
  • Comedy’s Brad Garrett gets laughs at The Mirage tonight and tomorrow
  • Steven Wright un-checks his offbeat humor at The Orleans thru Sunday night
  • Tim Conway & Harvey Korman combine for merriment at The Stardust tonight and tomorrow
  • Michael Franks entertains at The Suncoast thru Sunday evening
  • Foghat & Survivor revive their 70’s and 80’s hits at the The Cannery tomorrow

    Cars, Rocks, Papers, Scissors
Two other weekend activities deserve mention: One of the largest vintage car auctions takes place throughout the weekend at the Hilton and includes the infamous 1975 Ford Escort once owned by Pope John Paul II with bids expected to approach the $5-million mark. Also amongst the 200 vintage collector cars being sold will be the 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback built for the Wrecks to Riches TV show by Barry’s Speed Shop.

Then Sunday afternoon from noon to 6pm at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay is the most unusual hand-to-hand combat show to ever be televised. It’s the quirky Rock-Paper-Scissors finals for a 1-hour A&E Network TV special with LeeAnn Tweeden from Fox’s Best Damn Sports Show acting as ringside commentator. Believe it or not, there is a USA Rock-Paper-Scissors League complete with a governing body and the tournament has been sweeping bars across the country to find the victor. More than 260 regional finalists will meet fist-to-fist for Bud Light’s $50,000 grand prize and a Toyota Tacoma truck giveaway.

    Make a Wish
Before I sign off I have to send "Champagne Wishes" and greetings to two good Vegas friends celebrating Happy Birthdays this weekend. First, tonight TAO’s head honcho Jason Strauss will host a star-studded 40-person dinner in the restaurant to celebrate and I’ll be there for the fun and then the super-bash that follows in the TAO nightclub. We’ll have that report for you Monday right here in Luxe Life.

Then tomorrow night, Jeff Beacher’s Madhouse hosts Hard Rock hotel chief Harry Morton for his 25th birthday party with surprise performances there and afterwards at a 2nd bash in the Body English nightclub.

With everything I’ve told you about this weekend, you surely understand why I started this column asking if Vegas could get anymore celebrity gridlocked! Now I have a bigger question, "Will we all still be standing here come Monday morning?"
