When my friend Joan Collins came to Vegas recently, she promised Luxe Life an intimate advance peek of the reunion Dynasty filming in San Francisco. She kept her word -- and thanks to her best pal Judy Bryer who works here for the Keep Memory Alive Alzheimer’s awareness and here are the exclusive photos and report of the new CBS special to broadcast next month!

“Our first night welcome cocktail party hosted by producer Henry Winkler (The Fonz) was like old home week for me with Linda Evans, Pamela Sue Martin (Fallon), Al Corley (Steven), Catherine Oxenberg and Gordon Thompson. The next morning we drove 45 minutes out to The Filoli House where we filmed the original Dynasty pilot exactly 25 years ago. It was an eerie feeling walking into the house. Our set at Warner Hollywood was an exact replica of the house. I was blown away because there was the real version of the faux staircase, library, long hall and living room we’d worked in all those years - right down too the exact same front door. Our TV special is full of reminiscences from when we were the #1 show when I joined it in its 2nd season.”

“Originally I’d been hired by producer Aaron Spelling to play Cleopatra on a Fantasy Island dream sequence and he thought I’d be perfect as Alexis Morel Carrington, the ex-wife of patriarch Blake Carrington. Remember I appeared on the scene in a courtroom wearing that now legendary white hat. Alexis was the woman the audiences loved to hate. Our good friend Hollywood designer Nolan Miller was there too and dressed the men appropriately in tuxedos while Linda and I had the typically long Dynasty gowns but without the shoulder pads this time. The two of us discussed all our catfights: the pillow fight, the mudslide fight and the most popular lily pond scuffle where Linda threw me in the water. It was fun to remember it all -- but we actually had tears in our eyes when the producers surprised us with an unexpected visit from John Forsythe, now 87, who played the head of the house, Blake Carrington. He has the same shock of white hair and the same sense of humor -- and you’ll see him on the special during May sweeps. I know you will enjoy the walk down memory lane as much as all of us did.”

“Incidentally, Linda and I will be appearing together also in a new play “Legends” when it tours pre-Broadway this fall -- it’s about two actresses vying for the same part – so expect even more catfights.”
The Battle of the Butts
I’d just love to read the legal prose in the letters flowing, battling back and forth, between attorneys for the Crazy Girls at the Riviera and the Funny Business Comedy Club at the Aladdin. Turns out that the men of Funny Business did a spoof-parody ad of the famous backsides of the topless temptresses, but the humor didn’t “sit” well.
The Riviera claimed “cease and desist” to prevent the public being confused by the butts of the girls vs. the butts of the boys!!!! To laugh at the claim, the Funny Men lawyered demands right back that comic Joe Trammel who now appears in the funny show be removed from the ads of the girls show since he left it several years ago!!!
Ironically, Funny Business producer Angela Sampras was one of the original Crazy Girls who posed bottoms-up for the Riviera ad!! You can’t make this stuff up, and it’s a better plot line than anything a Hollywood screenwriter could dream up. Lawyers for gorgeous girls: $5000. Lawyers for immodest men: $5000. Humor of the situation: PRICELESS!!
Cleaveage City
Girls can go wild again starting this weekend as pool-party season officially kicks off. Cleavage City becomes a sea of silicone as bodacious bountiful bodies boost bikinis and often spill from them! There are two top spots from noon to nightfall naughtiness every Sunday. First, there’s the Hard Rock’s Rehab, which attracts up to 3,000 of the sun-tanned slick beautiful people seeking the recovery prescription from hard-drinking, hard partying the previous two nights before heading home. I scoped out the pool last week and all the 2nd level cabanas have been renovated and redecorated, new ca-beds have been put around the pool garden, a bridge extends into the main bar and a deck area with elevated DJ booth that will host bikini bashes as construction was ending.
Then there’s the original Skin pool at the Palms, complete with new catwalk opening this weekend too with another glass-bottomed pool for people below to ogle upwards, a smaller topless pool, a waterfall, a concert stage plus new cabanas including 3 two-story bungalows to follow next month after extensive construction is completed. Palms prez George Maloof promises: “It will wind up being the most unique pool in the entire country.”
Pure nightclub at Caesars opens the smaller sophisticated exclusive Venus pool for Memorial Day. TAO nightclub opens its party-pool at The Venetian and even in the outlying areas of the valley, where Green Valley Ranch and the new Red Rock reign supreme, will feature sexy Sunday afternoon soirees until the stars come out. Hooray for Summer!
Robin’s Royal Rundown
Remember though every week in the Friday edition of Luxe Life we’ll give you the top headliners and shows for that particular weekend and it is “stars galore” throughout May-I promise. Meantime here’s this week’s royal Robin's Royal Rundown:
The big event of the weekend is tomorrow night’s Tiger Woods’ Tiger Jam IX at Mandalay Bay with superstar Sting (pictured) in concert to raise funds for the golf champion’s charity.
GQ’s Hollywood in Vegas 3-day non-stop party at the Palms continues tonight with a listening session for Hoobastank’s new Every Man for Himself CD plus a Guess spring fashion show. Then Kid Rock, happy that he’s been able to get a court injunction to stop release of an explicit sex video he made with former Creed singer Scott Stapp and four women, has two concerts, Satyrday and Sunday, at Rain nightclub in the Palms. The GQ non-stop 72 hours wraps with a 2-5AM party invitation titled “Do You Know Where Your Girlfriend Is.”
Top martial arts fighting champions from around the world battle it out tomorrow to determine who will advance to the K-1 Finals in Tokyo. The big stars of combat disciplines including karate, kickboxing, tae won do and Kung fu are joined by former world heavyweight Francois Botha and former WWE/WCW pro-wrestler Sean O’Haire in Mayhem at the Mirage
The richest off-road race in Nevada -- Terrible’s Town 250 -- has a record number of off-road vehicles (motorcycles, quads, cars and trucks) entered ready to tackle a 250-mile loop with start and finish in nearby Pahrump sponsored bythe Best in the Desert racing association.
Tickets go on sale tomorrowfor Ashlee Simpson’s June 10 concert at the House of Blues
Depeche Mode will rock hard and long at the Hard Rock on Sunday evening.
Twisted Sister cranks out old fashioned rock and roll at the Silverton tomorrow
Wayne Brady tickles the funny bones at the Mirage tonight and tomorrow.
It’s not unusual that Tom Jones continues to have room keys and panties thrown at him at the MGM until May 10
His British songmate, Engelbert Humperdinck, sings and hip-swivels at The Orleans thru Sunday night
Mel Tillis & Roy Clark join country-forces to play The Cannery tomorrow night.
The Lettermen croon like the old days at The Suncoast thru Sunday night
Singer Stephanie Jordan and her Midnight Fantasy girls strut their sultry stuff at the RA nightclub in Luxor every Friday night from now on.
Israel’s top performers Mike Burstyn and Yoel Sharabi entertain at the Hebrew
Academy fundraiser is hosted by Venetian chairman Sheldon Adelson and his wife, Dr. Miriam Adelson who will unveil major plans adding yet another Vegas change. It’s being held at The Venetian naturally.
Light nightclub at the Bellagio throws a party to honor the women who run the nightlife of Vegas with a “Women of the Night” celebration on Sunday.
Two oddities to wrap up with: The Bellydance Superstars bend and bow away tonight and tomorrow at the Flamingo and believe it or not but there are enough ventriloquists in the world to have their very own convention at the Imperial Palace, where presumably even their dummies will do some talking!
You can talk out of either side of your mouth by writing to us at robinsvegas@aol.com But remember to be back right here on Monday when we’ll have the full insiders photo-report backstage from both the Sting and Kid Rock concerts!
