POLE POSITIONS
The gentlemen’s club phenomena is beginning to go mainstream, if only for the sake of keeping love at home alive and to spruce up a mundane marriage. Former Vegas CrazyHorse Too and Scores NYC dancer, Brynne Dearie, will start teaching classes on Thursday this week at a Stripper 101 dance studio in the Desert Passages at the Aladdin. If Brynne looks familiar when you sign up, it’s because she was Jerry Springer’s TV pole dancer for two years and she’s been the featured performer modeling for X-rated Jenna Jameson’s Xotic-erotic lingerie line. (Jenna is a former Vegas resident who now calls Arizona home.) The striptease craze has caught on with everybody from Pamela Anderson, Denise Richards, Carmen Electra and Teri Hatcher strutting their stuff in next-to-naughty-nothings at West Coast clubs and here in Vegas.
Stripper 101 is the first-ever dance studio in Vegas and the first to recommend that after a clothes card-charge spree in nearby stores at the shopping mall ladies learn how to take them off!! Brynne says this ultimate Vegas experience will work for locals and tourists. She will teach more than 25 sexy floor moves. “I’ll teach the ladies how to dance with boas, chairs and poles. We’ll use the same exotic dance moves they use in the Vegas clubs and each class will allow each student to master the Sin City stripper pole. It’s not just about sex. The ladies will also lose about 400 calories an hour in class,” she said.
The classes are designed to help women feel great by releasing their sensual side while learning the sexy moves. Brynne added: “It’s a safe environment for women to explore their body and sexual powers. She added: “Obviously I want it to add some spice to the bedroom but more important is that it’s an enjoyable way to create a better body and increase self-confidence while becoming a genuine Vegas stripper. It’s a fantastic opportunity for wives and girlfriends to impress their significant other. No nudity will be permitted, but my students will be encouraged to lose their inhibitions and have fun -- a great way to ‘top-off’ a wild, bachelorette weekend!”
ABRACADABRA MAGIC
There have been 4000 shows and 3 million people. That’s the amazing statistics
as master magician Lance Burton seen here with his mother, Hilma, and Alan Thicke) hit his 10th anniversary. Not a bad achievement
for a kid from Kentucky who
arrived in town 24 years ago with a roll of dimes and a deck of cards
determined to find stardom. Now he has his own theater at the Monte
Carlo with a cast and crew of 30 working for him.
Penn & Teller (pictured), Mac King, Jeff McBride and 'Mindfreak' star Criss Angel were just a few of the magicians who turned out to salute their hero. Other Vegas entertainers including George Wallace, Clint Holmes, Frank Moreno and Ronn Lucas also attended. Robert Goulet was dragged on stage completely unexpectedly for one magic routine. Lance also introduced his girlfriend, Gabriella
Versace, the star of 'Erocktica' at the
Rio
and his mother, Hilma, as the two most magical women in his life.
Lance commented: “It’s been an incredible journey from
searching for stardom and then finding it. I went from nothing to becoming a general
in charge of the troops.
Here’s what the stars said about Lance:
George Wallace: ”I’m in my 3rd year so you’ve got to be the best to reach 10-years”
Criss Angel: ”Lance is a true friend, a wonderful human being and incredibly talented. He’s been there for me and supported me way before I got my own TV show.”
Robert Goulet: “He didn’t even think he’d make it this long.”

Alan Thicke: “When I hosted NBC’s ‘Magicians of Vegas,’ Lance was the centerpiece. He’s the one they all look up to. I know magicians are very secretive: never reveal how they do their tricks, where they live or what they eat. They are a very mysterious cult.”

I talked with Criss Angel about his amazing magic trick in pulling a woman into two pieces that has become the hottest video streaming around the world and freaking global millions on the Internet. It is a mind-freak and he taped it here in Vegas for his first new A&E cable TV show. “Now I’m going to do that in a live show to myself,” he vowed. “I am now able to have two people pull me apart in half! And you’ll see that live right in front of your eyes -- very soon. No cameras, no trick boxes, no tape editing, nothing that anybody could say I rigged. This week on Mindfreak I put my hand through a persons body while on the Strip, but I’m also going to do that in a live show.” I also asked Criss if he’d pulled off the trick to float between two Strip buildings and he told me: “I had to. It was a long way down.“

Yours truly with Criss Angel
Impressionist Gordie Brown, who will star in his own theater at The Venetian starting September, told me that he’s imitating my voice in the production – with a rap song no less. M.C. Leach, Yo Yo Yo, with a voice so loud even the deaf are going “tone it down.’’ It was a brilliant impersonation if I say myself, or was he saying that? Ronn Lucas, the Rio ventriloquist who’s moving to the Steve Wyrick Theater at the Aladdin this fall told me they’d just poured the cement for the stage and added that Wyrick had buried a genuine set of Harry Houdini’s handcuffs inside as a “good luck” omen!
ELVIS RETURNS

Right on time as Luxe Life predicted last week the prized Elvis Presley bronze statue was returned to the lobby of the Hilton. It had originally been dedicated back on September 8, 1978, but had to be removed from the lobby in late 2005 during the hotel’s extensive renovation. It also needed a really good cleaning and an extra polish or two to restore its fading looks back to a new shine, It was returned to its place of honor in the courtyard at the front of the hotel arrivals lobby.
Rudy Prieto, Las Vegas Hilton CEO and general manager, and Janie Steele, who was working at the Las Vegas Hilton as a “camera girl” when Elvis performed (and still works there, but in the finance department), performed the unveiling ceremony. They pulled the drape (scene above) off the covered statue at ceremonies attended by Elvis fans.
Janie first met Elvis when taking photos of his stage show and fans- and they became friends with her taking his own publicity photos and even sharing steak dinners in his suite occasionally. . As we told you earlier in Luxe Life: Elvis debuted at the Las Vegas Hilton (then called the International) on July 31, 1969. He performed 837 consecutive sold-out shows, performing before 2.5 million people. His final show was December 12, 1976. Incidentally longtime Elvis aide, Joe Esposito, who is now a host at the Wynn, has his new book “ Remember Elvis” released next week. It’s a collection of more than 200 interviews with folks who knew “The King” including Kenny Rogers, Dick Clark and Steve Wynn himself.
ROCKERS RULE THE ROAD

Our local favorite rebels of rock, Motley Crue, get back together this fall as their successful world reunion tour, which began back in February ‘05, continues. Tommy Lee and my neighbor-pal Vince Neil have been out on solo tour-dates and recording new solo albums on a break from the tour the past few months. But the big news is that they will be hitting the road with the mighty Aerosmith group, now that singer Steven Tyler has recuperated from throat surgery and is able to get back to touring again. Both groups will be here at the MGM Grand Arena on November 4. Their "Route of All Evil" tour will run for more than two months before wrapping November 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Aerosmith has been off the road since March, when it was forced to cancel a host of dates with Cheap Trick due to frontman Tyler's surgery. Motley Crue will be extending its mega-successful reunion tour with its original four members and since the start, has grossed more than $45 million from 120 shows -- with 45 of them total sellouts. "It's going to be quite a trip," Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry comments about teaming up with Vince and the boys "I still remember when Motley Crue's first record came out. It was exciting to see them blossom. They really put on a rock show in capital letters. It is always inspiring to play with a band like that."
MORE ROCK RIFFS
I got to meet the '80s rock group Journey -- actually to be honest -- they were nursing horrid hangovers and recovering at the Venetian’s Grand Luxe Cafe after a nightlong party at TAO where they held court in a VIP skybox before moving onto the dance floor to sing in the artificial midnight snow-storm. They also signed the Wall of Fame in chef Josh Thomsen’s office. They were the first rockers to join the all sports-stars signatures from NASCAR, NBA, NFL and MLB. Journey told me they were filming an "on the road tour" DVD documentary “Where are They Now?” and the cameras even followed them for Lance Burton’s magic show at the Monte Carlo and singing “Don’t Stop Believing” to him impromptu on stage from their seats. Journey happily told me they’ll be back August 18 performing at Mandalay Bay.
STRIP SCRIBBLES
Harrah’s president Don Marrandino has announced that comedian Rita Rudner will start her new run there as of October 2 after five years at NYNY. She began there with just a one-month booking that was constantly extended as she racked up 600,000 total ticket sales. Her new book “Turning the Tables” is being released on my birthday, August 29. Rita, who has been voted Best Comedian in Vegas for five consecutive years, will be one of the guest Luxe Life columnists taking over for me next week while I’m on vacation in Italy. … Wednesday’s has become celebrity night at Tangerine in Treasure Island: Fighters Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes treated a flock of fellow UFC combatants to a Grey Goose night as Alan Thicke and his wife Tanya turned up for more champagne after I’d had dinner withthem at Blackstones in the Monte Carlo celebrating its 10-year anniversary. In fact, Chuck has been on a party streak all over town in recent days hitting LIGHT at the Bellagio, four out of five consecutive nights.
TONIGHTS TIP
Actress model, Ali Landry, will strut her stuff on the catwalk of Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace for designer Kenneth Cole’s fashion show followed by Pure’s director Greg Jarmolowich’s star-studded birthday party with beautiful DJ Sky Nellor on the turntables.
TOMORROWS TEASE
Vegas now holds the official Guinness world record for the largest toast with over 14,000 simultaneous drinkers last Dec 31 but the quest for the “worlds longest dj set” begins with an 84-hour non-stop session at the Palms plus more than 30-romantic couples are already set to get married after the first five miles of the upcoming Marathon.
