LOVE IS IN THE AIR
Everywhere you turn there’s a star in love and somehow there’s a Vegas connection amongst all the red roses and chocolate hearts!

The hottest romance in Hollywood is about to start making pop-headlines! One of Vegas’ most eligible bachelors, hotel mogul Harry Morton of the Hard Rock Hotel and actress Lindsay Lohan are head over heels in… well, they’re definitely new beaufriend and girlfriend and for her 21st after-hours birthday bash at Disneyland, they were lip-locked, hand-in-hand and arm-thru-arm for the night. Lindsay got her start with Disney in such movies as ‘The Parent Trap’ and ‘Freaky Friday’ so the theme park was the perfect destination for her celebration The Vegas tycoon even flew his pal, Kerry Simon from the hotel’s Simon Kitchen & Bar restaurant, to cook her birthday dinner at her Hollywood Hills home before they all trooped off to the Disney playpen.
Lindsay’s favorite moment of her big birthday? She was ecstatic about going on the new Pirates of the Caribbean ride! Luxe Life expects to see the new closerthanthis couple at the Hard Rock -- maybe even next Saturday when Fox TV cameras complete shooting of ‘Beacher’s Madhouse’ before the Morton family finally close on its sale to the Morgans Group from New York.
Harry is currently launching a chain of the hotel’s successful Pink Taco restaurants nationwide. Lindsay had been spotted more and more often recently here in Vegas, but nobody had put her and Harry together until now! She was even spotted turning up at a topless men’s club with a group of friends past midnight early one Sunday morning last month.

of Poker at the Rio tomorrow and Wednesday as she
kicksoff her own internet poker website www.pamelapoker.com. Despite their long on-and-off romance Pamela says: “ It’s been a whirlwind.
I’m in love. I’m happy. I see the light and I feel like I’m finally free. It
may be spontaneous but it is very well thought through.” Back in April 2002 Kid
Rock rented a 1961 pink convertible Cadillac from a Vegas car dealer Buffalo Jim Barrier and had his friend, Uncle Kracker dressed as Elvis to deliver
the ring on a drive the couple made out to Primm. They abandoned it after the
engine blew up and I even interviewed Buffalo Jim while I wrote a guest column
for Norm Clarke’s ‘Las Vegas Review-Journal’
gossip page. The auto dealer wanted $10,000 from Kid Rock for the damage and
the tow back to his auto-shop. The ill-fated car turned up in Pamela’s book ‘Star
-- A Novel.’ Now, Barrier says he will give them the car as a wedding gift if
they stop by next time they’re in Vegas!

dance floor getting wild applause from their friends, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
and UFC champion Tito Ortiz.

Next Saturday’s event, to be filmed as a pilot for FOX, will be the last from the Hard Rock now that Peter Morton have sold the property to the Morgans Hotel Group. This fall, ‘Madhouse’ will open in a new location and Luxe Life will bring you the details the instant the ink is dry on that contract.

Howard Stern comedy sidekick, Artie Lange, took in the show at the weekend and gave the worshipping 2,500+ crowd an impromptu on-stage comedy routine. Artie’s new movie ‘Beer League’ premieres in September and he confirmed that ‘Radio’s Bad Boy’ hopes to broadcast a week of shows from Vegas this fall. Rapper/actor Ice-T with wife, Coco, also caught the show. Meantime, Jeff Beacher tells me he’s not taking his ”cease and desist” action against NBC over his star-act Leonid The Magnificent on Regis Philbin’s talent show any further. “I made my point. They changed his wardrobe and the judges voted against him. Its karma!”
He also told me that the official grand opening of his new Rockhouse on the Strip at the Imperial Palace would be August 29 with a monstrous street carnival complete with the ‘World’s Heaviest Pig’ leading a parade to the boisterous bar in an attempt to get into the Guinness Book of World Records. The party palace gets an August 15 soft opening with numerous events leading up to the big opening and Beacher’s friend, Paris Hilton, has promised him she’ll throw her upcoming official record release party there too!
6,000 SHOWS
Congratulations to the cast and crew of ‘Mystere,’ the longest running Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas as they celebrate their 6,000th show the weekend after next (August 6). Now in its 13th year, ‘Mystere’ is, in all fairness, the show that changed the face of Vegas entertainment and launched the Cirque dynasty in this town. Cast and crews from all five other Cirque shows will join a star-studded VIP turnout for the special performance and the massive after-party. The party will feature a debut of the new modern Pan-Asian cuisine from PURE Nightclub Group’s premiere restaurant at TI, Social House, in advance of its mid-August official opening.
I’ve learned that the 6,000th finale will be extra-special whenfor the first time all the crew will join the cast on stage when fireworks will blast-off with confetti and balloons. Luxe Life’s cameras recently filmed behind the scenes of ‘Mystere’ for an upcoming AOL Video Luxe Life episode so keep your eyes posted for that shortly.
I know you want some stats from the 6,000 shows so here they are: 10,000,000 visitors from every country in the world have seen the show at the Mirage with 8,105,407 tickets actually sold; 1,661,000 gallons of liquid nitrogen have been used for the fogging, 72,000 red balloons have been released, and 19-miles of bungee cords have been worn out during the run. The stage has received 247 coats of paint and its been “mopped down” each night with a can of Coke, 12,000 cans in all! Happy to report that the rescued ‘X-Girls’ dancers are back to normal after their recent work-visa detention in Colombia. They are going back to South America for a 31-city. 6-week tour to Buenos Aires, Santiago and Mexico City, but absolutely not to Colombia again. They’ll showcase theirtouring act and troupe at the Palms early next month before jetting off. However, sad to return from my Italian trip and learn that the sexy erotic edgy ‘Headlights & Tailpipes’ topless dance show at the Stardust has suddenly closed -- although happy that my friend, magician Rick Thomas, who performs incredible illusions with his big-cat tigers will fill the spot until the hotel closes for good this winter. Stardust is to be blown-up on New Years Eve to make way for the new Echelon super-sized resort. Also closing is the provocative ‘Buck Wild’ country show at the Sahara. But hey, that’s showbiz!
STRIP SCRIBBLES
Reba McEntire got a pleasant surprise when her castmates, Melissa Peterman and JoAnna Garcia from the ‘Reba’ TV show surprised her by turning up unannounced at her Hilton show. … Following up on Friday’s list of mega film-stars shooting all over town, now add Natalie Portman and Norah Jones to the lineup. They shot a week of scenes for ‘My Blueberry Nights’ at Jesse Garon’s downtown Art Bar. Jesse, who is our city’s official Elvis impersonator, played himself in one of the gambling scenes. The film also stars Rachel Weisz and Jude Law. … John Edwards might be doing his ‘Crossing Over’ shows live in a Vegas showroom. … TAO nightclub in The Venetian played host at the weekend to two of the NBA's biggest stars of the present and past: Cleveland Cavaliers' sensation LeBron James and former Lakers’ player John Salley both on the ‘Best Damn Sports Show Period,’ which filmed a week of shows over the weekend at Hooters Hotel.
