In This Issue:A special Luxe Life
photo session with sexy X Girl Ruth
E. Fox News stars Greta Van
Susteren and Shepard Smith to broadcast
live from PURE.
We say a fond farewell to
the Stardust Casino as it enters its last weekend.
Robin lets you in on all the hot Halloween
weekend events with Robin's Royal
Rundown.
To celebrate the coming of Halloween, we invited X Girls beauty Ruth E. to pose for a souvenir Luxe Life photo session with fotog Matt Stabile. The X Girls are on hiatus this holiday, so there was time to play dress-up: the naughty nurse, perky pirate and sexy soldier. As a result you’ve got six of the best, as we’d say in England. Enjoy!

TALK-FEST

LEFT: Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren. RIGHT: Susteren's co-anchor Shepard Smith.
Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren plans to have two major Strip entertainers tell all in candid sit-down interviews on Monday, live at 7PM for an hour from PURE in Caesars Palace. Place your bets on a definite Celine Dion appearance! It’s all part of the news channel’s 10th anniversary, and co-anchor Shepard Smith is set to do two live shows the same day. His regular ‘Studio B’ show will beam up via satellite at 12 noon from the Strip-front fountains area and then he’ll move inside of PUREfor his ‘Fox Report’show at 4PM. After the three back-to-back shows, Fox will have a special birthday celebration at the nightspot. Greta, a former trial attorney, joined FOX back in February, 2002, after an 11-year stint with rival CNN. Shep has been with the network since its inception in 1996 and his “Report” ranks #1 in the timeslot and is in the top five programs in all of cable news. Incidentally, PURE is the place to hang your hat this weekend because tonight it’s rocker Gene Simmons from KISS, launching his new fragrance and tomorrow it’s Ivanka Trump’s birthday bash and then, Fox News completes the culture clash on Monday.
FINAL CURTAIN

LEFT: The Stardust, which will close Nov. 1. RIGHT: Steve & Eydie will perform during the last weekend.
The venerable Stardust resort enjoys the last weekend of its 48-year run before Tuesday’s midnight closing. Two songs spring to mind; ‘Thanks for the Memories’ and ‘Another One Bites The Dust,’ so expect final farewell entertainers Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme to sing both before the weekend is over! Ironically, Steve and Eydie have sung the final songs for a number of Strip makeovers, including the Sands, Dunes and Desert Inn, on their final nights. The march of modernization and platinum progress means the end of a venerable historic legend and in its place will come a glittering new $4-billion Echelon Place, by 2010. The famous 27-feet-tall, 216-feet-long Stardust sign, with its six miles of wiring, will be consigned to the Neon Museum, affectionately known as The Boneyard, next week for safety, and between next Wednesday and New Years Eve, the hotel will be emptied out and be prepared for the implosion that will have the walls come-a-tumbling down to welcome 2007! Everybody from Bob Hope to Milton Berle to Jack Benny attended the 1958 opening, where two young magicians Siegfried & Roy debuted, not as headliners, but as part of the Lido de Paris show! It was also home for Wayne Newton for many years and its swimming pool complex was long regarded as the very best and longest in Vegas. Go rent the DVD of the 1995 movie ‘Casino’ with Robert DeNiro and Sharon Stone as an accurate chronicle of some of the Stardust’s history. Steve and Eydie bring an old Vegas touch to the final hours of the resort in tandem with the world’s wildest Fetish and Fantasy Halloween Ball. But, the party of wild costumes will wind it down after midnight Tuesday and come early Wednesday morning the last guests will check out and the doors will be closed as the last one leaves! Luxe Life says a fond farewell and thanks for the memories.

HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS

It's going to be a rockin', shockin' Halloween weekend in our city of Sin.
Fear, fright and freaks make this long Halloween weekend a spine-chilling session of scary spirits, skeletons and specters. Witches, warlocks and wackos are everywhere you turn, on the thriller killer spree! The best haunted houses are at: Frightdome in Circus Circus, Circus of Horrors at Sunset Station, Haunted Vegas Tours at Greek isles, Haunted Castle IMAX at the Luxor, Chamber of Horrors at Madame Tussaud’s, The Venetian and the Haunted Village, set up at the Strip and I-215 crossway. But, the stars themselves will host the wildest and most outrageous costume parties tomorrow night:
Adult-actress
Tera Patrick and her Teravision buxom beauties will
shed
more than inhibitions at TAO.
Basketball
bad-boy Dennis Rodman holds court at Tangerine
in the TI
with $10 grand up the sleeves of his blood-stained wedding dress for
the
reveler wearing an outfit wilder than his! Gene
Simmons promises to attend.
Supreme
sexy Stuff magazine cover girl Diora Baird hosts,
and
appears in, ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre -- The Beginning’ movie
release party
at Coyote
Ugly in NY-NY.
The
biggest, baddest, boldest and barely-legal Fetish
and Fantasy Ball has multiple
DJ’s, bands and performers at its all night rave in the
Stardust.
Stuff
Magazine’s 5th annual Saints & Sinners Ball is at LIGHT
on Sunday night and
then the Stuff starlets and October cover girl beauty move to JET
on Monday
night.
Then,
Halloween night itself, Tuesday Oct 31, Rubber’s John
Huntington
takes over TAO and a slew of DJ’s host JET’s
Haunted House at the Mirage, with
$20-grand in prizes.
The
high-priestess of horror will be Jenny McCarthy,
along with
DJ Voice, at PURE with another $20 grand up for
grabs for
the wildest best costumes.
The
sexy Sirens
of TI will celebrate their 3rd-year anniversary aboard a
perverse
pirate’s ship of skullduggery at Mist in Treasure Island.

LEFT: Dennis Rodman will celebrate Halloween at Tangerine. RIGHT: Jenny McCarthy will celebrate at PURE.
It’s not all about outrageous, censor-crazed costumes, goblins, ghosts and ghouls this weekend. We’ve actually managed to find some startling straight entertainment events that we’ve wrapped up in blood-red bows, in the package we affectionately refer to as the ROBIN’S ROYAL RUNDOWN:
FRIDAY, OCT. 27Vegoose
rocks out for 4 nights and 2 days with Dave Matthews
at MGM Grand Garden Arena
and then late night at the Orleans Arena with Trey
Anastasio, with Robert
Rudolph and the Family Band.
LeAnn
Rimes shines from the stage of the Luxor as does
David
Spade at the Mirage
for two nights.
The
youngest of the Marley sons, Damian
“Jr. Gong” Marley, has been a staple in
reggae music for more than 10 years and his new album ‘Welcome to
Jamrock’ adds
his own hip-hop style to the show at The Joint in the Hard Rock.
KISS
frontman Gene Simmons and longtime live-in-love
Shannon Tweed
will launch KISS Him and KISS Her fragrances at PURE.
Ride’em
cowboy, as the Professional
Bull Riders buck and fall at Mandalay Bay thru
Sunday.
Arturo
Sandoval makes one night of music magic at the
Santa Fe Station as does the
Ramsey
Lewis Trio up at the Suncoast thru
Sunday.
SATURDAY, OCT. 28
The
Killers, Tom Petty, The Black
Crowes, Fiona Apple and Dave
Matthews are just
part of the lineup for the annual extravaganza known as Vegoose
-- daytime today and tomorrow out at Sam Boyd
Stadium. Check out showtimes and all the stars at www.vegoose.com.
Easygoing
Jimmy
Buffett hangs ten with the Coral Reefer Band -- and
probably some
marguerites -- at MGM Grand.
Donald’s
daughter and ‘Apprentice’ star Ivanka Trump
celebrates her birthday bash at
PURE. They’re
nicknamed STS9, but the real mouthful-of-a-name is
Sound
Tribe Sector 9 and
they will jam it up at the Joint in the Hard Rock just the way you want
them to
do.
REMINDER: It’s the end of Daylight Savings Time so set your clocks and watches back one hour for an extra 60-minutes of partying!
SUNDAY, OCT. 29Vegoose
wraps up with the String Cheese Incident at the
Orleans Arena. Particle
plays the Empire Ballroom and at TAO’s
new Global House session Sander
Kleinenberg will prove “we’re better than Miami”.
STRIP SCRIBBLES
Gaming insiders whisper that Vegas hotel mogul Steve Wynn had a secret visit to Atlantic City where he met with Governor John Corzine and Senator William Gormley, hoping he might develop a luxury resort property and improve the small 130-acre Bader Field airport. A property by Wynn would thus turn it from a daily bus-ride visit into a real resort destination. ... Incidentally, supermodel Rebecca Romjin had to turn down Steve’s invitation to musically program and choreograph the fountains of his new Macau properties -- after she successfully did so at his former Bellagio fountains for a documentary film project -- because of conflicting movie shoot schedules.
MONDAY’S TEASE
Sin City lives up to its name for the outrageous near-X-rated Halloween holiday. We’ll have the initial Halloween-horror histrionics from the weekend showdowns between competing couple Dennis Rodman and Ivanka Trump and we’ll prepare for Jenny McCartney’s $20,000 costume-prize giveaway at her Haunted Halloween party. Plus, we’ll keep watch on Paris Hilton’s 5th consecutive weekend in Vegas and let you know if she pulls more than a rabbit out of the hat with magician Criss Angel!!!
