Nick Lachey's New Love to Be a Guest Pussycat Doll; A New Challenger to Cirque's 'LOVE'

First, it was the Playboy bunnies with their own casino lounge at the Palms. Now, the Pussycat Dolls will get their own casino lounge at Caesars! The beauty battle in the gaming wars is underway! Call it the Pussycat Pit, right outside the glamour girls' main showroom lounge at PURE nightclub. The slot machines have been yanked and the space is being prepped. I'm hearing there will be scantily-clad dancers swinging on trapeze and the servers and dealers will be dressed, or undressed if you prefer, down to their stockings, garter belts and black-sequined bras!

And now, on Friday at midnight, as she celebrates her 26th birthday, former Miss Teen USA Pageant winner, Vanessa Minnillo will strip down to her scanties as the Pussycat Dolls' guest host. Pop singer Nick Lachey's latest love will come arm-in-arm with him, right from her front row seats at the Luxor theater, where he's performing this weekend. Vanessa adds her name to a pretty impressive list of hotties that have stopped in to perform with the Dolls, including Pamela Anderson, Nicolette Sheridan, Eva Longoria, Willa Ford and Denise Richards. I'm told that its going to be a steamy performance with Nick leading the cheering squad and that all the Vegas Dolls will have holiday season surprises for guests.

IN LOVE AGAIN

Nick Lachey will perform at Luxor this weekend, and will sing a song to his new love, Vanessa Minnillo.

As we said, Nick Lachey performs at the Luxor Theater Friday and Saturday at 10PM. Although he was the lead singer of the pop group 98°, it was in 2003 that he became a pop culture icon with the hit MTV show 'Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica,' and his hit song, "This I Swear," the theme for the show, which documented his marriage to Jessica Simpson. Just three years later, the message changed with his release of 'What's Left of Me.' Nick admits he poured himself into his music, helping write eight songs on the album, in which expressed the honest emotions of his broken romance with Jessica. Now he admits to being in love again with Vanessa, and he wanted her front row so he could sing at least one love song directly to her. They've been caught in serious liplock at clubs all over Manhattan but it's their first trip together for a romantic honeymoon-styled weekend in Vegas and we'll be on wedding chapel watch just in case. You just never know what celebs do at the last moment when they party in our city!

FREE TICKETS

Liza Minnelli will perform a free show for Strip performers when she returns to the Luxor.

Meantime, another diary date for you, especially if you're a showbiz performer great or small. Liza Minnelli has scheduled a "Gypsy" performance at 1AM on Sunday, Nov. 26 at the Luxor for all her fellow Strip singers and dancers, casts and crews. She's entertaining there starting November 23. Liza wanted to renew a tradition begun by the Rat Pack of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin to do free shows for fellow performers, known as 'gypsies,' after the regular audiences had gone home for the night. Luxor will distribute complimentary tickets, reserved solely for Las Vegas entertainers and their crew, to show company managers over the next 12 days. "There is no better performer to bring the Gypsy show back to Las Vegas than Liza. She helped originate the tradition and we expect an overwhelming response from local entertainers," said Felix Rappaport, Luxor's head honcho.

PARTY LIKE IT'S 2007
Move over Times Square! Las Vegas is the new place to be New Year's Eve as DirecTV's exclusive live music performance show, 'CD USA' takes over the famous Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas during America's Party for its live, nationally-televised celebration featuring today's hottest music artists and special celebrity guests. This explosive, 4-and a half hour celebration will air exclusively on DirecTV's channel 101 starting at 8PM here with a lineup that includes live performances from chart toppers Five for Fighting, All-American Rejects, Rockstar:SuperNova, Smash Mouth, OK Go and Chicago.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of tourists and locals alike gather in Vegas for the world-renowned New Year's Eve celebration known as America's Party. This citywide event encompasses activities throughout the entire destination; in addition to DirecTV's 'CD USA' live broadcast, this year's celebration includes the spectacular pyrotechnic display launched from 9 resort rooftops on the Las Vegas Strip. Traditionally, national networks have covered New Year's Eve with a sole focus on New York City, and for the millions of people out here on the West coast the party was just beginning when the live television coverage ended. Now, DIRECTV, the nation's leading satellite television service provider and its hit program CD USA, will ring in the New Year, not just in New York, but across the entire country. David Hill, DirecTV's President of Entertainment. Commented, "Never before has a nationally televised New Year's Eve broadcast celebrated the big night in all four time zones across the country with all live performances throughout the entire night."

"Having this level of talent in a nationally televised event is a real coup for Las Vegas and the Fremont Street Experience," said Jeff Victor, president of the Fremont Street Experience, which will use its 1,500-foot long Viva Vision screen to play what the close-up cameras see! Two stages located at either end of thefour-block mammoth screen will be set up for the band performances. The show will jump to live shots of various cities in each time zone across United States just before the official countdown to the New Year and through the stroke of midnightin New York City, Austin, Denver and Las Vegas. The live audience at the Fremont Street Experience will be part of one of the biggest private New Year's Eve parties in the nation. The entire four blocks and 200,000 square feet of the downtown Vegas venue will be gated, with access granted only to ticket holders. "Las Vegas is the best place in the world to celebrate New Year's Eve," said Terry Jicinsky, VP at the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority

DUELLING BEATLES

The members of 'Fab Forever' which revisits the music of the Beatles at the Riviera.

Cirque du Soleil's mega Beatles 'LOVE' musical spectacular at the Mirage cost close to $200 million to stage but, as of last weekend, there's a look-alike musical history tour of the Beatles at the Riviera that cost less than $200,000 to put together!! Producer Jerry Peluso brought his 'Fab Four' from obscurity to the Strip and bets his gamble pays off. "We guarantee just as great a time with our all music all song entertainment for a fraction of Cirque's expensive tickets," he commented. "'Fab Forever' not only looks and sounds exactly like the original lads from Liverpool, but they truly capture the spirit of the Beatles in concert. If you didn't have a hangover from the night before, you still might get a sensational feeling when you wake up in a new two-level Caesars' super suite that's been divided into 6-spacious areas by the folks from Absolut Vodka! Talk about a flavor-inspired decorating taste! The new ultimate Vegas party-pad helps mark Caesars' 40th anniversary. The six hot flavors represented include Mandarin Raspberri, Vanilia, Ruby Red, Citron and Apeach. It features edgy architecture and creative design, along with bursting colors, flat screen televisions, custom-created beds and a private dance floor; everything you'll need to get the full Vegas luxury party experience:

ABSOLUT MANDRIN: Upon entering the "Find Your Flavor" suite, guests will be greeted by a magical MANDRIN world. 20-foot-ceilings and gilded metallic walls that reflect warm orange and golden hues create the dramatic entrance. On the other side of the second floor is a tempting APEACH themed room. The decor teases the senses with an aquatic appeal -- the carpet is designed to appear as a built-in pool and the perimeter of the room features a "ledge" for sitting, so guests have the feeling that they are literally sitting on the edge of an in-ground pool. Additionally, the walls are covered with canyon sunsets and lush foliage to create a seductive indoor paradise.

Definitely time for a cocktail. I mean, it is past 5PM somewhere in the world! In another Caesars tasty tidbit of the day, please mark Dec. 4 down in your diaries for the much-awaited opening of the famous RAO's restaurant from New York City. The exterior construction walls come down this week to provide first glimpse of the notorious Italian restaurant as the final furnishings are rolled in!

STRIP SCRIBBLES

Tonight my good friend, celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi (pictured) is flying in from Hawaii home-base to host his 8th annual Wine Dinner at his east-side Strip restaurant. Having got a sneak peek at the menu I can tell you, "I can't wait." Just a few of the offerings are: Miso Ginger Soup, with Cha Wan Mushi, partnered with Roy's 'Pfeffingen' German Riesling; Shiroma "Shave Ice" Toro Sashimi, with Watermelon Shiso Coulis teamed with Rihaku 'Dreamy Clouds' Nigori Sake'; Kara age Crusted Hawaiian Opakapaka, Braised Lotus Root, and sizzling Kim Chee Daikon Vinaigrette served with Roy's 'Au Bon Climat' Santa Barbara Chardonnay. To top it all off, desert is an Island Poached Pear with Blue Cheese Crumbles & Caramel Drizzle. I trust your mouth is watering and the menu explains why Roy has been one of the longest celebrity chefs over 20-years and has built a restaurant empire in almost all 50 states!

WOW! WHAT A NIGHT

This evening Pop-royal Prince unveils his new 3121 club at a very private, hush-hush VIP gathering tonight at the Rio. Then, beloved Barry Manilow, riding high on his new 'Greatest Songs of the Sixties,' and fully recovered from surgery, returns for the first time to the Hilton where, except for a couple of break-nights, he'll sing, dance and play piano until November 18. If "60's" repeats "50's" #1 title too, that'll make his 2nd best seller in the same year! ... The previously postponed Alison Krauss concert finally takes place at the Orleans Arena. ... If you missed 2006 Playmate of the Year Kara Monaco last night, she'll host a party at Tangerine in the TI tonight. ... And, its Vegas-Passport.com debut movie night at the Brenden Theatres at the Palms with free admission for 'The Prestige.' ... Finally, if you'd like to work at Cirque's new Beatles Revolution ultra-lounge nightclub, there's a job fair seeking everybody from "mood managers" to bartenders, servers and hosts to work at the 7-day-a-week nightspotopening December 18 at the Mirage.

TONIGHT'S TIP
Perhaps the most unusual party is the one at TAO for the release of 'Amazing Race' 4th season winner Reichen Lehmkuhl's new book 'Here's What We'll Say.' Unique because it's his personal story of being in the US Air Force Academy and coming out of the closet and because his new partner, former N'Sync star Lance Bass, who also recently announced he's gay, will be hand-in-hand with him for the event!
