Both beautiful blondes Paris Hilton & Britney Spears decided on separate "chill-out" weekends in Vegas and, thanks to hotel mogul George Maloof, wound up together as good new friends. Paris flew in literally from Europe where she'd launched her fragrance line in Ireland and attended the World Music Awards in London where one twisted-joker thought it would be fun to throw ice over her! Britney, who was with family in Louisiana, decided to change plans for a Caribbean vacation and fly to Sin City instead. First she spent two "top secret" days in hotel-owner George Maloof's new mega-mansion, less than a few hundred yards from my home here, and I'll confess he kept her so undercover even I didn't know she was home.
Britney, along with 2 young female assistants to help her care for her two baby boys, Sean Preston, 1, and 2-month-old Jayson James, then checked into George's Palms Hotel in a $25,000 a night Fantasy Tower Sky Villa, complete with waterfall, lagoon and amazing swimming pool overlooking the Strip. She hit the resort's new Moon Nightclub for two consecutive nights, even tripping the light fantastic the first night with 'Dancing with the Stars' runner-up Mario Lopez. Britney, allegedly wearing a pink wig for disguise purposes, is also said to have won "very nicely" playing blackjack in the Playboy Club there. Last night, she asked George for "a night on the town" and if you click here for our pre-dawn Luxe Life report you'll see she wound up with Paris at TAO in The Venetian for a late-night supper followed by a visit to the Hard Rock's Body English nightclub. (OurLV Weekly magazine was celebrating its 8th anniversary with private parties at George's MOON and Playboy Club venues) Two of his hotel's AMP salon hairstylists gave Britney a new look makeover while a 3rd technician provided the $300 full-hand manicure package. Simultaneously, Paris was at the Canyon Ranch Salon in The Venetian getting a new blonde highlighting from Michael Boychuck, stylist to the stars! I'm reliably told Britney wanted her night out on the town with Paris because she's angry that her newly separated husband, would-be rapper Kevin Federline has been photographed with numerous women since their breakup -- and she wants to be seen enjoying Vegas with various celebrities before heading home for Thanksgiving and before he returns here Friday to shore up his fast-fading rap-record with a mini-concert at TAO.
Britney got her wish for photos -- particularly when she took off her black silk trouser-ants and decided to dance in her fishnets to Paris Hilton's new record at the Tryst nightclub in the Wynn! A cocktail waitress gave her a replacement skirt to be more comfortable! Gossips are all abuzz about how the two party girls even held hands several times walking from club to club. Britney wearing a masculine boy's suit complete with shirt and tie was seen chain-smoking cigarets in the lavish nightclub.after their TAO dinner. They also hit the Bellagio and its Light nightclub.
People Magazine is reporting that Brit's earlier blackjack winnings in the Mint high-roller lounge at the Palms netted her $10,000, while she waited to go off for dinner. "It's the happiest we've seen Britney in a long long time" said one TAO diner seated near the trio. The duo arrived at Bellagio hotspot LIGHT Nightclub at 3AM. Jack Osbourne joined the girls after celebrating his 21st birthday at JET Nightclub in the Mirage. Spears and Hilton danced up a storm on the speakers to the 80's music they requested. After shutting down LIGHT at 5AM, they moved on to Caramel Bar and Lounge in the Bellagio to find the venue had closed. As luck would have it, Caramel's GM caught the group and reopened the doors. He turned on the music and lowered the lights so they could enjoy one last Jack and Coke. Hilton and Spears called it a night at 5:30AM!!!
STREISAND SIZZLES
Barbra Streisand shattered her own 1999 New Years Eve record of $14,600,000's in ticket sales at MGM Grand with her weekend concert -- again at MGM topping the $15 million mark as the world's best selling singer!
Premium seating went for $1,800 a ticket with regular, good side-seats selling for $1,000 each legally, which is what I paid. But, the scalpers sent prices up on a range between $4,500 and $5,500 each! It was a monster sell-out for her brief, out of semi-retirement tour; all except 40 last row nosebleed seats! Incidentally, tonight at the last tour date for Streisand back home in Los Angeles, the scalper prices only hit $2,700 so we know Vegas is the hot happening place to be!
I'm no fan of her politicized songs and chatter with a strong anti-Republican and war stance, complete with savage put-downs on a President George Bush impressionist, which earned her some heckling, but as a superstar singer she can't be beat! She is platinum perfection. Her voice is in magnificent shape and scope for a 60-year-old legendary lady celebrating her 46th year in showbiz, and she won 4 standing ovation encores for what can only be described as one of life's brilliant experiences. Seated up front were tennis champ Billy Jean King, View co-host Rosie O'Donnell, Broadway star Gregg Hines' widow Mimi, French superstar chef Joel Robuchon and songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman. She giggled with us about how she'd hoped to take a drive out to Red Rock to see the surrounding desert for the first time, but admitted she got sidetracked with soup at the hotels Pearl restaurant, matzo bread and chopped liver at the Stage Deli and some pumpkin pie at Emeril Lagasse's restaurant and never made it out for the tour.
Her dinner meal, including a pizza before the show came from Wolfgang Puck's bar and grill at MGM. During the show she put on glasses to play the piano for one number and began by playing the wrong one! She also remarked how she'd written her very first song when she was just 22 years old on her first album which just went gold after 42 years! For the first time Barbra finally candidly revealed why she has 3 giant Teleprompters -- with all the words of her songs -- on both sides of the stage and hanging in the ceiling above the audience. She admitted her stage fright before each show and said that she'd once frozen and forgot every word while singing in Central Park. "It took me 27 years before I could sing again when they invented teleprompters, and now they are there just to make me feel comfortable in case it ever struck again." Democratic supporter Streisand is a monster money machine capitalist hawking artwork, posters and souvenir merchandizing with prices running up to $300 for her jackets. But in all fairness, Luxe Life will point out that she promised half of the tour's proceeds donated to her Charity Foundation's support of environmental issues. After the show she took her pet poodle playing blackjack for some 10 minutes in a high-roller private salon with a $100 millennium chip she'd saved from that 1999, Dec. 31 show! The "Funny Girl" actually opened MGM's Garden Arena on New Years Eve 1991.
TODAY'S GOSSIP - -TOMORROW'S HEADLINE
Three rumors and innuendos too juicy to ignore will certainly make major headlines if and when they come to pass. I'm reliably told that one major Strip hotel is seriously considering bringing a very old favorite hedonistic hideaway back to life with a whole new 'push the edge of the envelope' spin on scantily-clad servers feeding food to customers and providing back-massages over cocktails. Now that's better than baccarat!! ! First it was the Playboy Club at the Palms that changed the rules of Nevada gaming, and now comes word that one downtown Strip hotel may have found a way to change another rigidly enforced rule about topless casino entertainment. Whispers are they'll live by the law with a scantily-clad club INside the hotel but there'll be a connected walkway OUTside for the busty beauties to shed the remainder in a topless spot away from the slots! What world-famous French patisserie based in NYC will be setting up shop early next year at Center Strip?

In all of the rushed excitement to post our complete Comedy Festival wrap up (click here for all three photo reports) I gave you Tom Arnold's pained plea to ex-wife Roseanne Barr to "start talking again," but I failed to give you her tart acid-tongued comeback line: "I don't think we should hang Saddam Hussein. Too good for that bastard. Instead I think he should have to marry Tom Arnold!" Ouch! The good news is that the celebrity studded poker tournament held at the PURE nightclub revealed this morning its final tally of $350,000 for Childrens Hospital. Social House has become the place to be and be seen for celebrities these days. Dining in separate parties were two master magicians: "Mindfreak" Criss Angel and David Copperfield, plus MTV's Jaime Kennedy (below), actress Haylie Duff (above), Luxor President Felix Rappaport and EXTRA's Carlos Diaz. Haylie Duff actually made Social House her dinner of choice for 2 consecutive nights! Criss brought in his A&E TV crew to film as he performed several magic tricks for other diners but had to steer clear of competitor Copperfield, trying to have a romantic dinner with an unknown beautiful blonde, but the heat from Angel was hard to ignore for the magician. After tricks upstairs at Social House, "Mindfreak" Criss moved his 30+ crew downstairs to Tangerine in the VIP section as he drank chilled Jack Daniels and flirted with different girls in the party.
BOND FOR $5-MILLION
At its 5th annual fundraiser Nevada Cancer Institute raised more than $5.3 million, complete with an exclusive private showing 24-hours before its release of the new James Bond flick 'Casino Royale,' which earned a whopping $40-million+ at the 1st weekend box office! The other miracle was that MGM employees transformed the Garden Arena for the event using more than 5 miles of special drapes, curtains and carpets for the tuxedo-clad supporters of the 1 night 'Bond for the Cure' event, and then promptly undid it all to get ready for the Streisand concert!! The 007-James Bond themed night featured Dana Carvey, James Caan, George Hamilton and Olivia Newton-John. The sold-out event of 1,170 guests starred CNN's Larry King as the returning emcee. "We thank each and every person who has supported us in making the dream of a world-class cancer research and care institute for the residents of Nevada a reality." said Heather Murren, CEO and cofounder. Guests dined on culinary masterpieces by world-renowned chefs Tom Colicchio, Michael Mina, Wolfgang Puck and Joel Robuchon, The live auction hosted by auctioneer Peter Stremmel featured many unique items including a DBS Aston Martin, the model of the Aston Martin used in the new Bond film. Guests also bid on a one-of-a-kind "Spy Edition" 2007 Hummer H2 outfitted with everything from an X-Box 360 game system to spy lights in the air vents and a James Bond Vacation Paradise package to the exclusive One & Only Ocean Club in Paradise Island, Bahamas, the same resort used in the filming of 'Casino Royale.'

People all over town are asking if that really was handsome actor Colin Ferrell partying like a make-out bandit at the gay Gypsy's club over the weekend. ... My longtime friend, English actress Jane Seymour also visited this weekend with a display of her original paintings and watercolors at Art de Vigette in the Fashion Show Mall. After signing and dedicating some of her artwork she went to the Luxor to watch good friend Olivia Newton-John's concert. ... '7th Heaven' actress Haylie Duff was at TI's Social House for 2 nights of sushi, skewers and sake and went clubbing downstairs the 1st night at Tangerine and then PURE for the 2nd night. With Perrier Jouet rose champagne in hand she wandered both clubs posing for photos with fans and happily signing autographs. ... Most people come here to play 21 but for rocker Ozzy Osborne's son Jack Osborne (below), it was the place he picked to turn 21. He flew in from LA with an entourage that included singer Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly for dinner at Stack, near where all the 'Entourage' cast (above) of Kevin Connolly, Adrien Grenier, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara were seated, and then dancing at JET nightclub in the Mirage. ... Jack and Kimberley took in the late show of Cirque du Soleil's Beatles 'LOVE' musical at the Mirage last night seated not far from actor Jay Mohr of Last Comic Standing and his fiancee of 9-months, actress Nikki Cox from 'Las Vegas.' after a golf outing Mark Wahlberg dined on Crab Cakes and Crispy Calamari at FIX in the Bellagio near comedienne Kathy Griffin and hot TV personality Samantha Harris from E! and 'Dancing with the Stars' proudly showing off her sexy lingerie layout in the new FHM magazine. ... Jack and Kimberley took in the late show of Cirque du Soleil's Beatles 'LOVE' musical at the Mirage last night seated not far from actor Jay Mohr of Last Comic Standing and his fiancee of 9-months, actress Nikki Cox from 'Las Vegas.' after a golf outing Mark Wahlberg dined on Crab Cakes and Crispy Calamari at FIX in the Bellagio near comedienne Kathy Griffin and hot TV personality Samantha Harris from E! and 'Dancing with the Stars' proudly showing off her sexy lingerie layout in the new FHM magazine. ... Comic Dane Cook invited his Tourgasm audience to his red-carpet party with the cast at JET and won raves from the Strip girls.
