For the first time since breaking up with her Greek shipping tycoon beaufriend, Stavros Niarchos, and days after throwing him a 21st birthday party in Vegas, heiress Paris Hilton has broken her silence exclusively to Luxe Life and also commented for the first time about romance rumors with superstar quarterback, Matt Leinart. She also exclusively revealed her plans to open her own Hollywood-styled nightclub on the famed Vegas Strip!
Paris returned to Vegas early yesterday evening. I walked with a radiant and
glowing 25 year-old Paris from the Palm restaurant in the Forum Shops of
Caesars Palace last night on the way to the Pure nightclub where the 22 year-old
Heisman Trophy winner, Leinart, was being feted for being the a top 10 NFL
draft pick and going to play for the Arizona Cardinals. It was also an advance
birthday bash for when he turns 23 next Thursday, May 11.
"I'm here to support him" Paris told me. "He's a very good friend and we've known each other for quite a long time."
She talked candidly, yet quietly, about the split with Stavros. "Yes I'm single, but I'm quite happy about it. I'm loving life and it’s time to focus on me and my debut record that’s coming out soon. I'm very excited about that. I'm feeling good and am happy."
Wearing a floor-length, shimmering, turquoise, summer-transparent, low-cut gown and tossing around her newly-styled hair, she was all smiles, gracious, friendly and happily posed for photos with fans as we walked. Paris was with two girlfriends and the expected flank of four bodyguards, asshe chatted with me.
Luxe Life reported yesterday that following a series of weekend dates with
Leinart, the couple was being romantically linked by a frenzied media. They had
been spotted at thje Shag nightclub in Los Angeles and earlier the same
Sunday afternoon, on a shopping trip to the Grove entertainment complex. Paris disguised herself in a
long, brown wig to avoid being recognized while with him. I warned her
that a 50-strong platoon of TV cameras, photographers and reporters were
waiting for her on the red carpet at Pure to talk to her about her love life.
"We're friends,” she said. “What’s wrong with a couple going shopping together or going out for dinner? The magazines immediately turn it into a full-blown romance. I guess all this goes with the territory, but for now we are just really good friends."
Then, Paris excitedly confirmed Luxe Life's exclusive scoop on Tuesday: "I'm going to open my own nightclub on the Strip here in Vegas. I'd like it to be open by New Years Eve. It will have a very big VIP section for all my friends from Hollywood -- more and more of us are coming to Vegas more and more often so we need a new one. The Pure executives are going to be my partners. We are looking at the space in the morning."
Leinart himself denied the romance rumors when also grilled on the red carpet. "We are just good friends," he insisted. "I really like her as a friend."
However I can confirm that the couple were together both on the dance floor of Pure and in VIP Booth #18 on a balcony raised slightly above the dance-crowd. Matt re-introduced his mom and dad to Paris and the four had a group-hug with arms all around each other! Paris and Leinart's pop spent along time talking to each other side-by-side on the white leather couch.
Then the Pussycat Dolls rolled in a celebration cake (pictured) in the shape and design of a football field. The Pure cocktail beauties brought in tequila shots and Paris and Matt toasted each other. There were no passionate hugs and kisses as Paris had publicly displayed with Stavros, but there's no doubt they are close pals and will see each other again. Paris was the only gal pal with him and his family in the VIP cabana.
Paris and her girlfriends remained apart from Leinart's 32-strong group during dinner, although they were dining in separate restaurants only a hundred yards away from each other. Leinart's 3-hour dinner bash from 8PM to 11PM in a private 2nd floor room was at Wolfgang Puck's Chinois restaurant and his chefs David Robins and Terrence Fong created a four-course family-style tasting menu of Asian delicacies.
In the party were Matt's family, including his parents, his lawyer and two super sports agents and several high school and college buddies he'd invited along. Insiders say he reserved 30 Caesars suites for the celebration and picked up a $150,000 tab for them all. During dinner, Matt went downstairs solo into the main restaurant to watch the televised LA Lakers NBA playoff game and posed for photos with some of the other diners.
Meantime, Paris' pretty-girl posse was at The Palm Restaurant
and once they knew Matt had entered the nightclub, they then made their
separate arrivals. The moment they were inside the safety of the darkened club,
they were side by side. One of the large group told me, "You just
know they like each other. You can go as far as to say they are very fond of
each other but whether it leads to a full-blown romance remains to be seen.
She's got her career very fixed and busy at the moment and he's about to start
his professional football life. If she's in the stadium opening day, then
you'll know it’s clicking along on four cylinders. If not, then they'll just
remain good, close friends."
With extra-large Grey Goose vodka bottles being generously served, Matt was at one point spotted flicking green olives at his friend Nick Lachey, who was in the adjoining VIP booth with Holly Robinson's husband, football star Rodney Peete. They were all still partying strong two hours into the celebration at 1AM this morning.
Paris summed up, "Matt is really a nice guy. I wouldn't have missed this evening for anything. It’s all very enjoyable"
