Hillary takes Texas

Yeah! All the hard work has paid off for Hillary supporters  for the primary popular vote in Texas. The delegate thing might not be settled for sure until June. What can I say, it's crazy. Seems congratulation can be given to both candidates. Sen. O for Vermont and Sen. Clinton for Ohio, Texas, and Rhode Island. There were some accusations and even a fight that required the police at the caucus gatherings last night but I guess that can be expected when tempers and emotions run high. Below is a photo of some of the crowd in the caucus we attended. at Galindo elementary school.

"Students split into two groups — one for Obama, the other for Clinton — and shouted cheers and taunts at each other. An Obama supporter yelled, "Twelve in a row!" while the Clinton side chanted, "Yes, we can, is not a plan."

Meanwhile, Austin police responded shortly after 8 p.m. to a minor disturbance between an Obama supporter and a Clinton precinct captain at Precinct 343. Police sent three patrol cars to the Alara Canyon Creek apartments at 8025 RM 620 shortly after 8 p.m.

After the argument, the precinct judge had ushered caucus voters out of the building and called the police. No one was arrested.

"When someone called the police, everyone calmed down," said Sgt. Richard Stresing, an Austin police spokesman."

Frank, Krys, myself, and Cyndi all reported to our respective Precincts and got to vote in our first caucus. It was interesting but I don't enjoy the arguing or tension between the two camps so I was ready to get out of there. Both Pct. Captains did a good job and we started right on time, 7:15, and we were home by 8:30. After a day of walking 4.513 miles keeping voting visibility high for Hillary in the windy, warm day I must admit I was pooped and ready to go bed. I was a bit disheartened when I learned Hillary had lost Vermont and wanting to get a good nights sleep I took two Tylenol PM and hit the sack about 10 o'clock without watching anymore news or going online. Needless to say I was happy when I learned the outcome of the Tuesday's contests. Mom was more than a little upset when she went to bed because shethought the news was not going to be good but upon learning the outcome of it all she let out a yell and said "Go Hillary!".  To his credit my brother sent me an ecard of congratualtions on Hillary's big win. I belatedly sent him one for Sen. O's big win in Vermont. After the euphoria wore off Frank and I gathered up all the signs we had put out yesterday and took them back to the Hillary Headquarters which now looked rather deserted since most of the paid workers were on their way to Pennsylvania and other states for the next round. I was happy to learn that the signs in good shape would be taken by the campaign workers and reused since they had no dates on them. The metal wire frames and pickets can become quite an expense and reusing them is cost effective and environmentally sensitive. So it's onward and upward on the march to Colorado in August. Usually the thing I look forward to in August is the start of the Pro football season but now it looks like the Democratic Convention will be a major attraction. I wonder, will it be a brokered convention? It's been an unusual and passionate campaign so far so it wouldn't surprise me if it was.
