Friday and more pretty places in Austin

It's wasn't hot today but it's quite humid which made for a sweaty walk. Did 3.439 miles and took a couple of pics which I think are worth sharing. The shot of the trees and Colorado River are right down town near the Austin American Statesman building. Green places like this in the downtown area are one of the many things that make Austin a nice place to live. I must admit though that if it were not for the many 'tree hugger' groups in and around Austin who fight the developers tooth and nail to keep Austin green we would be a vast wasteland of concrete and steel. Many fights have been lost but some of been won and I know they (I) will keep on doing what needs to be done to preserve the beauty of the area. Photo one is part of the river walk that wanders east of the Congress St. bridge. Photo 2 was taken in front of one of the downtown hotels...I forget which one.
