Waits

Chillin' | .....magical sunbeam plays across frozen tree _rRose

Picture from Hometown

Indoor Gardener

       A February wind blows dismally,

The sky is full of dark clouds hanging low,
The garden lies in numbed frigidity

And waits the falling of another snow.
Today, I planted seeds despite the cold,

For my tomato plants will mind it not

Their tiny leaves will presently unfold

At my south window; in a flower pot!

February is merely as long as is needed to pass the time until March. _Dr. J. R. Stockton

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape -
Something waits beneath it - the whole story doesn't show.

One kind word can warm three winter months.

What a beautiful poem, such grace and flow.  I live in the south and yet I have not even begun to work in my yard yet.  Funny how we who have the opportunity to plant early put it off while others can't wait for the snow to thaw.  A windowsill garden, oh what joy to watch the seeds pop their little heads up out of the moist soil right before our eyes.

Lovely, my friend. I'm waiting for Spring to burst into color. Missing it very much. Hugs. *Barb*

Neat!! Makes a little cold weather seem not quite so threatening. Like the golf course is "waiting" for spring to explode into all its beauty!! rich
