Speed Part Deux
Speed Part Two (continued from the previous post.)
Today, with our newspapers, emails, cell phones, we are totally incapable of escaping from or forgetting, the pressure of 'current events' be they international news or simply some major occurance pertinant to only your given family. Your brain is allowed no Holiday! There is no denial that we are incredibly more efficient because of the modern information explosion. However what has that efficiency bought us? We strive daily to conserve a extra few minutes here or there, trying to shave a few minutes off the drive home, trying to find the way to leave for work as late as possible without actually arriving past the employer's start clock. We carry day planners that have the hours of our day laid out in mini tomes like some collection of Zoroastic Formulas that are meant to make our lives more rich or more in tune with the world around us. So.. You saved five minutes on the drive home.. What did you do with those five? So often we stress about saving time.. we pay little attention to what we do with what time we actually manage to free up. Life, is a series of moments.. Moments of pain, moments of pleasure, moments of tragedy and moments of triumph. Moments come, and moments pass. If you try and live your life in a singe one, you will miss the plethora of experiences awaiting you in moments to come. We must be mindful of when to let go of certain moments in our life and let them float away down the river of time..We must be vigilant and alert so that when the right moment begins to pass we can sieze ahold of it and enjoy it.. and then allow it to progress along its proper path. One cannot live their lives in a single moment of Bliss, nor can one live their lives trapped entirely within a moment of Tragedy, though it is certainly easier to get lost in the tangled forrest of the latter. Finally, remember that there is no reason to feel you have to rush through all of your moments just to get to 'the good ones.' Every moment is a treasure of some kind, even if it is a trove of bitterness. It is up to you how to spend that treasure to achieve its full value and to get the most out of it. Dream often, Dream Well, and Sieze the Moment!
