Pages from the Glittering Darkness

Just a short note today.. very tired.. my lady wife's surgury went very well today. I have just got back from the Hospital where I have been for like 12 plus hours. The only negative thing about the entire experience was that her surgery was completed at 10:30 am yet I was unable to visit her or see her until 4:30 pm.. I checked in with the Nurses Desk every hour after she was released from surgury only to be told that they would have her in her room soon..(the Doctor told me I would be able to see her by noon.) Finally, at 4pm when they had designated her a room and were moving her, a nurse walked up to me and asked why I had not gone back into the recovery room to visit her. I replied as politely as I could that I was told I had to wait till she was assigned a room. The nurse balked and said she had come to look for my wife's mother and myself to have us come back and visit, and she had left word at the desk that such would be okay.. I simply told this woman whom I had never seen before, that they had never informed me of such at the desk any time I inquired about my wife's status. Yet another reason I tend to despise hospitals... My wife is happy and doing well.. and I am much relieved..
