New Bible Reading Plan

There should be a chart on the left in that box. If you can't see it, then reload (refresh) this page. Click on the image for a larger view or to print. (The only way to print it is to click for a larger view, copy and paste the image into another program like microsoft word etc). If you have trouble I can email this to you. Email me at seawater9@yahoo.com and make sure the subject says "Bible Reading Plan".

Picture # 1 is a chart of the Bible reading plan. Picture # 2 is a copy of a table of Scripture according to Hebraic thought.

The word "Torah" in Hebrew means teaching, doctrine or instruction. It is often translated as "Law". Torah is most often used to refer to the first 5 books of the Bible that YAHU’VAH gave to Moses at Sinai, but is also used to refer to all Scriptures. Two other words also used to refer to the first 5 books; these words are "Hamesh" and "Pentateuch", both meaning five in Hebrew and Greek respectively. From this point on whenever I use the word Torah, I am refering to the first 5 books of the Bible.

The Bible reading plan divides the Bible into 7 sections: [1] Torah, [2] Prophets, [3] History, [4] Psalms, [5] Poetry, [6] Gospels & [7] Letters. Hence, the chart has 7 columns. Each column is further divided into 5 rows according to the first 5 books of the Bible.

I designed it to work in the following way, (but you can do this however you want): Take the first chart and cut the columns into seven strips (bookmarks) and put them in their respective part of your bible...so this is how it works:

Look at the chart. You read through what is in one row at a time. For example, if you are in row #1, you just read a few chapters from Genesis, Romans, Isaiah, Psalms, Job, Matthew in whatever order you like until you finish that row. After you have read everything in row #1 (Genesis), you move on to the row #2 (Exodus). After you have read everything in row #2 (Exodus), you move on to row #3 (Leviticus)  etc…

You do this until you finish the Bible.

The reason I like this plan is because you read what you feellike, when you feel like. (Its not like you have to read X # of chapters from X book on X date… like most Bible reading plans). At the same time there is still some structure.

However, if you want to finish the Bible in a certain amount of days (that we will call X) using this plan, you can do the following: Divide the number of pages in your Bible by X. Then read on average that many pages a day until you finish reading through the Bible.

For, example if I want to read through the Bible in 30 days and my Bible was 1000 pages long, I would divide 1000 by 30. That is equal to a little bit over 33 pages. (Its better to round up, so I would read 34 pages a day un til finished).

This plan makes sure you are reading from all parts of the bible proportionally no matter how much time you spend to read through one row. So even if you haven't read through the bible once, you can still get an excellent understanding of who God is (learning more from Him everyday) and understand how the mystery of His will (Eph 1:9-10) unfolds.

The second picture (chart) is an aid to understanding the following. "Kitvei HaKodesh" are the Hebrew words meaning "Holy Writings" (Scripture). Western Christianized ideology divides Scripture into the Old and New Testament. Hebraic ideology sees all of Scripture as a more cohesive whole; there is the TaNaKh and its continuation in the B’rit Chadashah (meaning Renewed Covenant). TaNaKh is an acronym for Torah (Law), Nevi’im (Prophets) & Kh’tuvim (Writings). The second chart shows how Scripture is grouped the way YAHSHUA (Jesus) probably grouped scripture while he walked on earth.
