PS. ONE YEAR LATER, STILL SHIPWRECKED AT THE SUPERDOME

<Still Shipwrecked At The Superdome>

One year later, this boat remains on the street in front of the Superdome, two blocks from the Mayor's office, in the New Orleans Central Business District.

<What's The Plan, Ray?>

I had a quick question myself - but I forgot my can of spraypaint on the way to work....

WHO YOU GOTTA SCREW AROUND HERE TO GET THE F---KING BOAT PICKED UP ALREADY?!?!?

For crying out loud...

    I under stand that New Orleans got the floods from Katrina but WHAT ABOUT THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST....Ever since the storm all you hear about is New Orleans...but there was people all along the coast of Mississippi that lost alot. My sister is still in a fema trailer and its been over a year. I grew up in Gulfport and after returning there I couldnt find my way around because every thing was gone that was there........I am sorry for the people of La what what about MS.

    I think it's pretty weird that they got the superdome all fixed up for football season yet this boat sits there? Oh yes , that is because it would never generate any money....I feel bad about what happened in NOLA.. What bothers me is that the government had no plan of evacuation for poor people with no cars. There should be such a plan for any disaster in the USA. We are supposed to be a powerful country , right? A smart country ? IF it had been a CAT 5 hurricane as it was in the beginning when it was in the Gulf.. and if NOLA had been a direct hit..which it wasn't... there would have been a great loss of life. It does not matter to me what race the people were or "status".. any loss of life is a horrible thing. I also feel bad that when people think of Katrina all they think and remember is New Orleans when other states were directly hit such as Mississippi.. etc.. It looks like a nuclear bomb went off where my grandparents lived.

    Spike Lee, NBC, Right Wing New Orleans WASP(WHite ANglo Saxon-Persons) and Mayor Ray Nagin with developers are profiting off of the misery of poor black people in the city!

    It doesn't make any sense at all. Why things are still the way they are. That place should have been cleaned up. See the problem is that the government is not worried about us as a people. I mean all colors of the unemployed,the poor,and a race that is not only the ones who helped built this country and slave for this country. We even died for this country to know that the government still doesn't care about the under class. Its very sad to know this. It is a big issue in this country to me! Now I am speaking on behalf of the poor and blacks who live in america. They can go help others across the atlantic sea. But can't help us, and we live on this soil. They ask us to fight for this country,pay taxes,through us in jail. And ask us to fight there wars, but they can't help us! They come to the hoods of america and try to recruit blacks. To fight some dumb war, that doesn't even have to do with us. The government is beneath me, I love my people. I think we should do something to stop this! Because it can happen again somewhere else, you know. I can't see that again, babies starvin,crying with no food,bodies of our brothers out there dead, not of voilence, but of lack of help and leadership of our so called government. I see how things go in this country for us. Its still hard out here for us. They just suger coating things to make look different from the hatedred long ago. You can't help but think this way, because we are a hurt people, with strikes against us, from all sides of the world. I am shamed with the american government, because we don't own any boats,military,and controll who gets what in this country. They let us know that on national television. But they can help a people who aren't trying to help us! People who hate us, they help. I mean who are we supposed to be? This isn't a game! This isn't Robin Hood, we aren't the savory of the world.
