Feeling Happy
Celebrations!
Time passes much too quickly for some and drags by for others. Today there will be celebrations all around our area as the area colleges hold their graduations. My niece will be one of the ones who’ll be walking across the stage today to be handed her diploma. She’s worked long and hard to earn her degree and I know that she’s proud that she’s finally finished. I am so very proud of all of my nieces and nephews. They are all four great kids and this Auntie, always finds a bit of a catch in her throat when she sees the beautiful adults these kids have grown into. Today Amy becomes the third of Mom and Dad’s grandchildren to earn her degree. I am sure Mom and Dad are cheering her on as they have my two sons when they earned their degrees. I know that I will be sitting out in the audience and smiling broadly and clapping for the achievements Amy has accomplished. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
One day, God willing I hope to be sitting and watching Amy and Eric’s son or daughter walk across the stage too. And I’ll tease this child that they’ve done it once before. Amy and Eric are expecting their first child. They will find out in a couple weeks what they are having. But it doesn’t matter, the child will be loved and it will be special, another blessing that God gives us to say that the human race will go on.
So today I will celebrate… I will be with my beautiful niece, her husband and my brother as we remember the times that Amy was a little girl, the long blonde locks of hers, the times she and I would go shopping and people would tell me what a beautiful daughter I had. She and I would giggle; she does look enough like her old Auntie to be mine. And I’d be glad to call her mine, but then her mom does deserve some credit there. She helped raise her into the wonderful young adult she is.
God has blessed us. I see now how Mom must have felt when she looked upon her grandchildren. She knew the joys of motherhood, but would tell me so many times, IF I had known being a grandmother was so wonderful, I’d done it first. Yes, Mom, I understand… so today from your lofty view… we’ll feel the love that you and Daddy send for Amy… We’ll know that you are so very proud as well. Watch over us, and know you are missed… We love you.
Amy I wish you a long and happy life, use the knowledge you’ve earned. I pray that God leads you to where you can best help the people you strive to help. Social work will be a very challenging job. I daresay you’ll see good and there will be times you’ll see heartbreak. Know that you are being lead by God and I know that you’ll pray for him to guide you in all that you are, and all that you will be! Congratulations my Sweet Niece!
I love you….
Dear Heavenly Father, Blessings to all the new graduates today throughout all the colleges. Guide these young people to the paths you’ve chosen for them. Give the wisdom to lead and also knowledge to know when to follow. Bless them; keep them safely within your arms. Thank YOU for giving them the determination to not give up. Dear Father, thank you for my family, friends and neighbors. I pray Lord that you bless all of them with love and understanding. Bless those Lord, who are sick of mind or body and in your time, I pray that you heal all their pain. Be with those Lord who are looking for a job, guide them into the fields that you feel is best for them. Lord, your blessings have been great and for that I praise your Holy Name…. Amen
