Learning to Love ... ME

Leaks can be a real booger… things that you don’t want getting wet becoming soaked from a small leak in something… a water line, a dam, and your favorite cup… the kids’ swimming pool that never holds water… just things that can stress you.  But then there are leaks that can put a big nervous smile on our face, may cause our hearts to beat a bit faster, and have us sending up prayers….Those leaks would be when an expectant mom calls to say that her water has broken or she’s leaking!  Then we are all excited about the new miracle that can be here soon.  This happened this afternoon.  A dear friend of mine had a call from her daughter.  So now we wait and see, sometimes the baby doesn’t come as soon as we’d like, but we wait… we pray… I pray for my friend and her daughter that God is with them holding them safely in his arms so that all goes well.  I can not imagine the excitement that having a grandchild would feel like.  I have said many times, a birth is God’s promise that life will continue.  And I believe that…He gives us miracles in the form of a wee small baby.  One that melts your heart with a smile, or a whimper, someone so precious and new that you just want to protect it always from any one ever hurting it.

Today, I stopped and prayed when I heard the news.  I prayed for God to be there for this new mom, the grandmother and the newest wee tiny one.  I prayed for God to hold these women in his arms, to comfort them, to make an easy delivery for the mother, and to give the grandmother a calm and peace that everything and everyone will be fine.  I asked God to always be near this new baby, to protect her from the ugly side of life.  For God to bless her with good health, a peaceful spirit and a happy heart, that will draw people to her and allow her to be a testament to God’s grace.

Dear Heavenly Father… Thank you for the good leaks that one may have.  I pray for your loving arms to surround this family and bless them each and every one in the ways you see fitting.  Be with all the people traveling today, and the folks who are pouring into the area.  There will be plenty of partying and having fun.  I pray that you keep all safe and away from harm.  Lord, give me an extra portion of patience this next couple of weeks.  I pray that you give me a peace that takes the stress from me.  Lord you know my heart and my soul… I pray that you continue to guide me to do what is right.  Lord, bless my family, my friends and neighbors… guide us along YOUR paths… Give us compassion for those less fortunate and understanding for those who try our patience.  Lord, I thank you for the Grace you’ve blessed me with… Be with the new mothers and all the newest miracles…. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
