Feeling Quiet

Prayers for a Friend

The miracle of medicine is amazing.  Machines are able to look inside your body, pick out things that are supposed to be there and things that are not.  They can help you see the features of a baby before it’s born.  They can tell you if it’s a boy or a girl.  I sat Thursday and watched the wee little girl growing inside my niece.  I have had surgery myself and also saw as the ultra sound showed one nice size gall stone.  It’s amazing all that can be done with machines and the knowledge of well trained medical personnel.  No matter how routine the procedure when it’s done to you or someone you care about, it’s a concern.

I have seen several requests for prayer for people who have friends who are undergoing procedures.  I’d like to ask all of you to pray for my friend Deborah.  She will go to the hospital this morning for a procedure which hopefully will allow the doctors to better treat her.  She is at peace and ready to go with the procedure and is looking forward to feeling better once the doctors know how to treat her.  Pain is not an easy condition to live with.  Deborah and I share a common illness, FMS which causes widespread pain and fatigue.  Stress, worry and lack of rest will make it worse.  So people who are reading this blog, today, please ask God to be with my friend, to guide the doctors to find what is causing Deborah to feel so badly.  I appreciate your time in doing this.  And I know Deborah will as well.

Dear Heavenly Father, guide the hands of those who are on Deborah today, the doctors, the nurses and the technicians.  Help them to find the reason for Deb’s pain so that they can administer treatment for it.  Lord, I know that she has suffered greatly over the last month and I pray that you will place your healing hands upon her so that she can be pain free.  I know you’ll never give us more Lord than you give us strength to withstand, so I pray that you continue to give Deb strength, renew her faith that she will be made whole and healthy soon.  Lord I thank you for my family, friends, neighbors, people who are in my life and those yet to come into it.  I thank you for my many blessings, one of them being Deborah.  She has been a blessing to me through months of heartache.  We have traveled some of the same roads and understand where each has been. Lord, bless all who are sick of mind or body and I pray Lord that you are with Kim’s Friend too.  You know all whom are hurting.  Lord I have been blessed and for that I praise your name.  In Christ’s Holy Name I pray… Amen.
