AOL Opens Up

Ecstatic | Simon Willson talk about JavaScript at ETech

I'm thrilled to announce (along with lots of other folks) that AOL has launched two exciting programs today:
  • "Open AIM" - Developers can create AIM plugins, use AIM web apis, and even create their own AIM clients using the SDK.
  • MapQuest Open APIs - I'll try to update this entry when i have info about how this compares to the Google Maps API.
Man, i wish i had time to create a plugin for AIM but i recommend JAMS for a bunch of cool ones (included in the SDK).

    HeyYa -

You look like a true believer, sooooo ... (Truth is I can't spend more time muckin' about here; I have to get to work on GPLv3 ... ok? Forgive me?)

Something really wierd just happened: I tried to access ACS 4.1 beta and was told "You are signed in with an AIM name; log out and then log in with an AOL name". heh ... after chasing my tail for a while I clicked on that form's "Create AOL account" and went through the drill. 3 guesses what happened next. Ayup ... same thing. (At one point I got a humungous server error page; that's when I gave up.)

Point is that it's impossible to feedback in places like this ... soooo, if you are in the loop, or know something about this ...

    cheers
