Feeling Happy
SOUTHERN WOMAN
One of the things you learn as you become older in the south is it is not only expected it is your destiny..... to raise a little

I know what you are thinking it is snowing and icy out side I am fixing to go to the hospital and I am crazy for thinking I should try to start a garden ... well it will be when I get better but I wanted to ask everyone to post a comment on what you plant and when you plant it and how do you freeze or can it for the winter use...
Every woman is great and unique and we are all a
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Have a great night

That's a great poem. I've never read it before. Good luck starting a garden when you feel better. I've planted a few things in pots, like bellpeppers, but we don't have a yard because we live in an apartment. I'm sure you will be very good at it.

I enjoyed your poem - I am behind (way behind) in my journal reading too! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. Wishing you all the best.

I "plant" myself in front of the computer (sorry, little humor here) :)
actually, we are renting right now and the property owner has a gardener come in; lots of flowers they are growing, looks nice too :)
when we lived in Montana, we grew some tomatoes; I don't have much of a green thumb
looking forward to hearing what you plant and how your crops are doing

2 pks. of Petunia
4 pks. of Liliput Zinnia, &
4 pks. of Petite Orange Marigold.
I've planted these same seeds on the ground for two-three years now, and they do grow, the zinnia grew about three feet tall and keeps coming back!
(I got different kind of Zinnia then)
they're all very easy to grow. I am planting these seeds sometime in March-April. I should be seeing some flowers by June. The blooms lasts until the fall.
yap... love gardening.
