Feeling Mischievous

Teaching them a lesson..Being mom for the night

momI am on strike, I have had enough, and the kids are not liking it , let me give you a little history here... I have teenagers so they are not going to be in any danger .

Yesterday they were out of school because of bad weather, I told my son that he needed to feed the chickens , bring in wood for grandpa . Which he did reluctantly but he did do it ..

I told Baby girl to do the dishes and  clean up the kitchen there was only breakfast dishes so she didn't have many to do .She asked to do them latter and I said as long as they are done before your father gets home around noon.. and She didn't get them done by noon and her father didn't come home til 4 and she still didn't get them down

I told my oldest daughter she needed to fold clothes and dust the living room... She didn't do it ..

So I told them after dinner that I wanted their chores done and I went to my room because I was not feeling well ... this morning I get up to a dirty Kitchen, the laundry strewed all over the living room and the big dog in the house.. because he got out of his cage this morning and the kids were late so they put him in the house and went on to school...

I am beyond mad , I don't feel good , I am not able to get the dog out he weighs 150 lbs and I know that I will have to re-wash all the clothes because he will definitely be in them before I get home , I have to go get prescriptions filled , and buy groceries so I will be gone a while the mean time I had to get a cup from thespare cabinet because there was not a cup /glass or spoon that was clean , they went on a feast last night and raided the fridge and cooked up everything in the house.

One of Life's Lesson use to do it all the time(and so will parents)So when they got home, I informed them that they would do everything I told them to do yesterday and they would also clean up the rest of the house and fix dinner........ well it wasn't an hour before they started complaining how they are tired and have worked all day at school and they had home work , And me and dad well we were acting like children ,  see we are hungry and we want dinner and oh I can't find anything that I am looking for and their dad has lost his papers etc ...

love my kidsThey are actually doing a great job, the kitchen is sparkling and the clothes are getting done and the fighting has stopped. We are having spaghetti ... and they are now doing their homework... I am quite impressed ... Sometimes it is easier to teach kids with laughter and kidding than it is to scream and yell at them ..... role playing is what we have used in the past and it works sometimes lol ..

Water WeightI lost 7 lbs in two days, how? do you ask well I stopped taking the pain med's and I lost water weight I was so swollen and I could barely breath by the time I stopped the med's .. I started taking Midol again and it was not quite cutting it so I  have to go back on some other med's but at least I know why I gained 17 lbs the last 3 months..I wish I could of stayed off them ..but it is not happening soon... I called the doctor and he switched me to another med and so far so good ...

well it is BIG BROTHER time and I have to go I hope you all are having a good night and remember you are worth it and no matter what happens all you can do is take it one bite at a time...

hugs

Sherry

Your house sounds like mine when I've just had enough and refuse to do more.  If I can get the oldest away from the ps2 then the youngest will eventually help, a little, lol.

Nothing like showing who's boss when needed, alot of kids are starved for guiding discipline, someone to show them the exact boundaries.  And once they know, 9 times out of 10 they stick to the rules.  Kudos to your methods!  xo CATHY

Good job Sherry, I completely agree that sometimes you just have to do things out of the ordinary to get kids' attention. Hope things go well with the new meds, and that you are feeling better.

    Best Wishes
