Feeling Hopeful
WHAT ARE WE TEACHING OUR Daughters? National Woman's month..
This Child tears my heart out as a mother I can't help but weep for her , they took her talent and they destroyed her for it .. they use her like a $2.00 call girl honestly you can pay that for a Britney update .. all I can think is she needs a mom to shelter her until this hell she is going thru is over .....
I am not going to lie I am a Hillary supporter because of her values and her experience something I have researched a long time before this campaign was ever started.. I knew in 2005 that she was considering running , I am not voting for her just because she is a woman ... but it really bugs me that you don't hear about obama, or McCain's wives, are being too involved in their campaign you don't hear them having to answer for the actions of their spouses, and I am sure if the bias media would look deep enough they would find something wrong with these woman as well.. are they too emotional or not tough enough, but that would defeat the purpose wouldn't .. after all you are good enough to stand behind your man , have his children, clean his house, balance his check book , basically do the dirty work with little or no credit as long as you keep your mouth shut in public and look like a super model ...
Is this really what a man wants
Martha in the kitchen
Tia in the bedroom
June cleaver in the public... come on people ... is this as woman what we want ? don't get me wrong I think those of you who can cook are great and I have my own Martha Stewart times, I have been know to pull some tia acts in the bedroom and I believe a woman should respect her self at all times just like June did ....BUT I also believe that a woman can do any job , on her own that a man can and she doesn't have to be degraded for it ... we don't have to go to one extremes to another , we are not properties that our husband , or boyfriends have purchased we are not lucky they took pity on us .. we are equals . If a man loves you he will show it with respect, dignity and support. He won't make you feel like you are not good enough for him , and therefore should be grateful he gives you five minutes of his time or that you should walk around on egg shells because he may find fault in you ....
Daughters , Mothers listen up You are special you are unique and you are a blessing to have in someone's life..
Mother's teach your daughters and your son's that a woman can do anything that a man can do and
yes that does include standing and peeing , and to respect each other for the person that they are,
not the sex they were born .. Whether Hillary is elected or not we should respect her for who she is the first woman to be brave enough to face the challenge of running for the office to be the leader of the free world , a job that only men have ever been consider suitable for the job.. for facing the critics win or lose she has made history and showed our children, that you can , go for your dreams ....take this opportunity to discuss with your children that whether you agree with her policies or not that being a woman doesn't mean it can't be done . We are doctors, lawyers, politicians, fireman, police man, solders, CEO, teachers and we are women...we are equals we are making history . There is so much more to us than Mothers, wives and daughters we are their first teachers.
By the way baby girl is wanting McCain to win , Dad though he respects Hillary is for Obama , and I am just wanting them to see that Change has happening , the United States made a big turn in history ..... and I am for one glad I lived to see it ... and I hope my mother is watching from heaven and knows that her daughter who chose to work on cars, her oldest granddaughter who chose to be teacher, her baby granddaughter who is choosing to be a pediatric nurse and her grandson who's is choosing to be an accountant are seeing history , hope and someday I hope to see a person who is known for their personality not their sex, color of their skin , nationality or their religion ... someday it will be president Clinton and you won't automatically think that bill is who they are talking about. who knows it could be Chelsea ... or baby girl she is awful mouthy and full of crap these days ...
ugh how did I raise a republican lol I for the record am a Independent , who is mostly democratic in my way of thinking ...
I don't want this to be a political rant I just want to see women wake up. Everyday I run across at least one woman who has had her hopes and her dreams knocked down , I watch women on Tv tearing Hillary, Britney and other public female figures to shreds. Their clothes , their walk , their tears , their ability to mother and have a career .. wake up ladies if we don't respect each other how in the hell can we expect men to respect us , our daughters or our granddaughters.
Walk with your head high , step in beat , your confidence showing and a smile on your face ... because we are all worth it ...
Hugs
Sherry

I never did like Britney....was never a fan. However, the things that have happened to her have sickened me, and I feel very sorry for her. I have her on my prayer list, even.

Well said ! I agree completely. I saw that the media had it out for Hillary a long time ago. Things have a way of changing though. Obama-lama-ding-dong will have his hands full in the coming days with the Tony Rezko deal.
That said, I'm a little partial to that Tia picture.

I am proud to say that I too am a Hillary supporter. Thank you for this entry.

You make many wonderful points in your entry. What I would like to see every female out there do is a bit like Hilary. Stand by their convictions, own their choices and hold onto their beliefs...no matter the pressure from elsewhere.
We owe it to ourselves,
Rebecca

I voted for Hillary on Tuesday, when they had Texas' primary. I was glad to see she won in Texas. But everything I read about her says she only has a small chance of beating out Obama. I would vote for him if he got the nomination, because I'm a Democrat. But I am disappointed that she's not doing better, because I wanted to see her on the ticket.
Although I think the Democrats are going to have a hard time taking the White House because too many people don't want to vote for either a woman or a black man. Unfortunate, but true.
