The ad at the top of my journal is one for AOL and spam blocking.

What exactly is AOL's definition of spam?

I know what mine is.  Intrusive, unwanted advertising being shoved down my throat.

  J-land is a unique place.   Rather like a hotel with many rooms; each adorned with a small writing table and chair. 

Here some sit and write about their lives.  All the thoughts, struggles, their family, triumphs and even the defeats encountered along the way.  

Some lives seem to be swirling out of control, and others are delicately perched in balance.

Through these portals we peek, as voyeurs through a key hole; though if truth be told, they are more like an open door. 

We catch glimpses of brilliance, and shades of shadows as we move from room to room visiting....  Exchanging pleasantries as we pass by.  

Every once in a while however, we are drawn to enter.   And, as the writer sits diligently typing at their desk, we wander among the words, picking them up and wearing them for a while.  We are gifted for a moment.

Perhaps it is an artist brush we hold for an instant....  Or we see the world with new eyes from behind a camera's lens.   Each room holds something special.

And when you are tired and think that there is not much more you can discover after wandering the many rooms and halls;  

Someone will offer you directions if you're lost;  a cup of hot coffee; or even a much needed piece of fruit,  so that you can find your way back to your room refreshed .... and so that you can sit back down at your own small writing desk.
