The Saturday Six

1. What is your favorite fruit?  Favorite vegetable?  Favorite type of meat?  What food causes your diet the most trouble?
In respective order, oranges, asparagus, steak.  As for trouble, chocolate, but it's the kind of trouble I love.

2. What food do you think has the most ridiculous-sounding name?
Celeriac.  It sounds like a physical complaint.  Man, my celeriac is acting up today.

3. If you had to pick one of the following to experience, which extreme adventure would you choose:
  A) Skydiving
  B) Mountain Climbing
  C) Scuba Diving
  D) Surfing in Hawaii
  E) Arctic Hiking in Alaska
  F) African Safari
  G) White Water Rafting
Mountain climbing has never had any appeal for me.  I lack the balance for surfing.  I really don't want to experience the cold of the Arctic, and I've been white water rafting.  That leaves skydiving, scuba diving and an African safari.  As much as I loved reading about Hemingway's safaris, I think that's as close as I want to get.  Deciding between the other two is a lot harder.  I loved the feeling of flight the one time I went hang gliding.  It was an incredible rush that I imagine would be even more intense during the free fall phase of skydiving.  However, the water has always felt like home to me and at the same time like a different world.  Many of my favorite dreams have involved being able to breathe underwater.  Scuba diving would be my choice.

4. What skill do you most wish you could suddenly acquire in your sleep this evening?
Physical grace.  I would love to wake up and be able to move with suppleness, artistry and self-control.

5. How many active prescriptions do you have at the moment.  Of those, how many do you take regularly?
Three.  Two are daily meds.  One is as needed.

6. You're considering a major change or a big decision awaits you.  Are there any special images you ever dream that tend to guide you in one direction or another or that seem to suggest that the option you're considering is the right one?
I definitely look to my dreams for guidance, and I enjoy picking them apart andlooking for layers of meaning in my dream.  I have a dream friend who has appeared several times when I've been seeking guidance.  This is a person I don't know in my waking life, but I know when he appears in my dreams to listen carefully.

You can get the questions at Patrick's Place.

A dream friend sounds interesting. I can't recall the last time I had a dream that I remembered. I guess maybe I sleep to deep.

    Cynthia,

A dream friend...that's interesting. I'm always intrigued by people like you who are able to discern so much from their dreams. It's very interesting. I tend to fly around a lot and have fun in my dreams. I like them, but I'm not quite sure what to make of them.

I like your response about physical grace.  When I watch figure skating I fall into the movements and wish so much I could do those things.  But I don't have the grace, strength, or stamina.
