Feeling Worried

Recurrence

Last fall, the girlchild found out that she has some nerve damage in her lower right leg. It's resulted in frequent numbness and a notable weakness.  We found out that there was no obstruction like a bone spur causing the damage and were set to go to a neurologist for more informtion when other health issues came up that had to be addressed first.  Over the last several months, this settled down. Yesterday, her teacher called me from school to pick C. up.  She had gone numb on her entire right side.  She was having trouble holding a pencil and could barely stand up straight.  After seeing her doctor, she's set for another MRI, this one of her brain and a followup appointment with a pediatric neurologist.  I'm grateful these appointments are next week, and we won't have to wait long. Words like pediatric neurology can make a mother's blood run cold.

Please, Cynthia, don't decide that the worst is wrong. It could be anything. Wait until that doctor tells you have something to be concerned about before you scare the hell out of yourself and your daughter. You'll both be in my prayers.

Oh my, oh my.  Cynthia, how scary.  You and she and her dad have gone through so much lately.  I do hope that this is nothing more than a scare, a blip that is a fluke and that is nothing.  Hold on tight to your beliefs and your prayers.  I will be thinking of you and sending warmth and hugs to you across the miles.  Do take care of yourself as well as her.

PS - thank you so much for your understanding comments in my journal - I have taken them much to heart.
