Silly Quiz

I found this at Secret Garden and just had to try it.

Blogthings - What Kind of American English Do You Speak?

Your Linguistic Profile:
55% General American English
35% Dixie
10% Yankee
0% Midwestern
0% Upper Midwestern

That 10% Yankee must be why I hear, "You're not from around here, are you?" every now and then.

I won't even quizz anyone. I've been told that my broad 'A''s are purely Midwestern. Although here in Chicago we don't talk with a twang, nor do people here talk with those phony 'Chicago' accents you hear on TV. And I say 'pop' instead of soda.
