Feeling Ecstatic
Hearing Chicago, "Fancy Colors"
This morning I woke up thinking today was going to be a really terrible day. The husband was cranky because he was facing a work day that he knew in advance was going to be extremely stressful. The girlchild had her MRI this afternoon. Between those two, every co-dependent (I hate that freakin' word) tendency I have was on overdrive.
I get up early to have a little computer time before family and work demands all my time, and there I was, sipping my cappucino, opening journals as each alert came up in my mailbox. Suddenly, I was scaring the dogs. I jumped up and literally screamed, "Oh my God/dess! I won the Heartsong!"
All day long I was telling anyone who knew that I was a blogger about the Painting of Light. Beyond that, my heart, which had been heavy, was once again light.
I read and re-read the other winners of this month's triad of winners, Rebecca's incredible poem (http://journals.aol.com/justaname4me2/InTheShadowOfTheIris/entries/1389), and Leane's childhood memory (http://journals.aol.com/louie0768/Befuddled/entries/55), and I felt so honored to be chosen.
Judith HeartSong is an amazing woman and an incredible artist. I can hardly believe that one of her paintings will grace my home, and I feel truly lucky that through journalling she has come to grace my life.

I really liked that poem. It does make one a little giddy, doesn't it?
