Yesterday's appointment at the pediatric neurologist could not have gone better. No neurological problems were found. The nerve damage in her leg is a pinched nerve, and it's much better than it was last fall. The scary stuff I was trying to avoid thinking about isn't affecting her. That's a huge bag of rocks of my shoulders. We still have to get the results back from the Lyme disease and arthritis tests, but right now, it looks like the problems she's been experiencing may be due more to fatigue than anything else.
She also has her first official "date." A guy, who she says I won't like, has asked her to go the mall. This is a middle school date. If they see each other one more time, it means they're going steady. The nearest mall is two towns away, dates back to the days of the earliest enclosed shopping malls and is really a huge bore, but she's going with a guy. Because of the distance, I'm driving. I like this, and I've promised to try to not be too embarassing. Last night, when they were playing phone tag, she told me, "Mom, I can't help it. This is making me feel ... giggly."
I like that too.

Oh, I'm so glad you got good news at the neurologists. I can imagine what a relief that is.
Giggly....how darling!

Good news. I'm happy it wasn't something desparate.
