Mumia Abu-Jamal
Mumia Abu-Jamal is a convicted cop killer who has been in a Pennsylvania prison for 26 years.
Even the conviction has been reviewed multiple times by multiple courts, the Hollywood left (and other leftists) have taken on the cause of this black THUG/convicted killer as a CAUSE. Nope. They do NOT have convincing evidence that he is INNOCENT. They simply allege that he has been treated unfairly.
Review this weeks entry on 7 year old Alexis Goggins (a REAL heroine, even at 7 years of age). I said in that entry that one of the most disturbing trends in America today is the trend of civil rights "activists" to make HEROES of black individuals who are CRIMINALS, and/or sleazy human beings. This includes the Jena 6, but there are many other examples.
Were the Jena 6 treated unfairly? Probably. But they were NOT heroes. They were criminal THUGS.
Does it help African-Americans to make heroes of these people, instead of people who are true, positive heroes? Of course it does not.
You doubt this (you racist fool you!!!)? There was a recent story that 50% of all people in prison for murder in this country are black. But the important statistic associated with that one was that 9 out of 10 of the VICTIMS of such black murderers were black.
Black people are being KILLED out there, and leftists are making heroes of MURDERERS and THUGS. How does this help African-Americans. It is WORSE than Nero fiddling while Rome burned. It is as if Nero were out setting as many fires as he could, as Rome burned.
I have said before, in many contexts, that leftists have blood on their hands, and that they are doing their level best to DESTORY the lives of most African-Americans. Leftists have pursued policies that have DESTROYED black families in this country--the destruction of the black family being one of the primary causes of statistics like the ones cited above. Sure, there are black families out there with solid family values. But are leftists making THEM heroes. Don't be silly! Lefits are too busy making heroes of murderers and thugs.
This whole trend of making heroes out of murderers and thugs is DISASTER for African-Americans in this country.
Let us arbitrarily assume that black defendants in this country get an average of 50 years in prison for murder, while white defendantsget an average of 30 years (these are made up statistics to show my point, and NOT real statistics). If that were true, would you say it is "unfair", or illustrates some residual racism in the system? You probably would.
Does this means that it HELPS black people to make HEROES of muderers who receive 50 year sentences, when maybe they should have received 30 year sentences? Of course not. That HURTS black people, because more black people are VICTIMS of murder than are convited of murder. Plus, maybe those convicted of murder DESERVE an average of 50 years in prison, and maybe the 30 year average for white people (a made up statistic, remember) is TOO LENIENT (and puts the person out on the street to kill more people).
We can strive for fairness in sentencing without making HEROES of these murderers and thugs. Even if we can't, making heroes of these people sends a message to African-Americans that is DESTROYING them (not to mention literally destroying many of them, because of the African-Americans KILLED by people who leftists want to keep out there on the streets continuing to kill).
There is just no excuse for it. You can't defend it. At its core, it is RACIST. Black criminals are NOT heroes. Further, the question of whether a black rapist receives a generally higher penalty than a white rapist is MUCH less important than the question of how to keep African-American men from being rapists at all. Note that I am NOT saying that African-American men are automatically more inclined to be raprists or murderers than white men (although the above statistics on murder certainly suggest that blacks are committing murder at a higher rate than whites). What I AM saying is that white criminals are almost never made into HEROES (ok, sometimes white WOMEN are, but that is a distortion of justice in the pursuit of another politically correct cause). More importantly, making heroes of this type of person merely results in MORE CRIME AGAINST INNOCENT BLACK PEOPLE, and MORE self-destructive behavior on the part of blacks (men especially), who are being TAUGHT the wrong values BY LEFTISTS.
I frimly believe that African-Americans are just as capable of "family values", and just plain values, as any other type of person. It is too bad that lefitsts are out there trying to DESTROY them with a RACIST attitude that crime is ok for African-Americans (or the equally racist attitude that it is the "white establishment" that mainly benefits from blacks being convicted of crimes).
I repeat what I have said again and again: Lefitsts are the PRIMARY racists in this country today (just as they are the primary religious bigots). Further, lettists are the PRIMARY force holding African-Americans down in our society.

In citing that statistic (blacks commit more murders), you probably ought to consider first that African Americans may tend to get convincted of murder more often than white men becuase of the bias of the system. Of course to take an even more drastic liberal view, there's also poverty to consider; minorities are still disproportionately poor. Poor people are not automatically criminals, but there's a culture and a certain kind of struggle associated with severe poverty that may create more petty crime that, in some cases, may tend to escalate to murder (Sean Taylor's killer, i.e., comitting petty crime and ended up killing someone). Also, the system may be even more biased toward poor people than toward African Americans, another thing to consider when citing that statistic.

To one degree or another, the system IS biased against them--if only, as Kyla says, because the system is harder on the poor. But the PRIMARY victims of African-American criminals are African-Americans. Further, the people you DESTRYOY (either literally or figruatively) by making heroes of, and excuses for, black criminals are PRIMARILY African-Americans themselves. Having what is now called "white middle class vales", which used to be merely "values" accepted by basically everyione, is MORE important to both African-Americans and the poor.
We need to be making heroes of people who OVERCOME their background, and not of people who are trying to drag everyone down with them. Leftists don't understand this, which is why I say they have blood on their hands--not to mention the virtual DESTRUCTION of the African-American family in this country (speaking, of course, in general, without intending to disparage the MANY African-Americans who live an exemplary life).
