Associated Press and AOL: Press Agents for Al-Qaida
"Al-Qaida has invited journalists to send questions to its No. 2 figure, Ayman al-Zawahri, in the first such offer by the increasingly media-savvy terror network to "interview" one of its leaders since the 9-11 attacks."
You all probably think I make some of this stuff up (see previous entry). I don't. Doesn't the above sound to you like a description of a perfectly respectable organization trying to get its message out (like, say, the HIllary Clinton campaign--"media savvy" and all)?
Why should al-Qaida not invite its PRESS AGENTS in the West to send questions. Al-Qaida KNOWS that it gets sympathetic coverage from the despicable Associated Press--at worst, NEUTRAL "coverage" passing on al-Qaida statements without the "caveats" and doubts routinely used in reporting statements of the BUSH ADMINISTRATION (we know that leftists, and the mainstream media, regard the Bush Administration as MUCH worse than al-Qaida).
President Bush would KILL for the coverage that al-Qaida gets--including access to the mainstream media essentially on ITS TERMS, any time it wishes.
