Great Barrington, Massachusetts has BANNED "holiday lights"--ostensibly because of "global warming" (a religion that is REALLY beccoming annoying:  did you know that the new "energy bill" will eventually BAN hunred watt incandescent bulbs?). 

What are "holiday lights", you ask?  Is that Fourth of July fireworks?

Nope.  They are CHRISTMAS LIGHTS (for those of us whose leftist, schizophrenia mental disease has not so separated us from reality as to be completely insane).

I have not forgotten my promise to do an entry on leftists, includng the ACLU, wanting to BAN CHRISTMAS.  I promised it earlier, but decided to wait until right before Chirstmas.  But I wanted to give this story separate billing.

For leftists, this is a "two-for".  Great Barrington gets to show its allegiance to the "global warming" religion, while at the same time advancing the leftist agenda of getting rid of Christmas.

We KNOW this to be true because at least one selectman in Great Barrington (and maybe all four who passed this ridiculous "ban") REFUSES to let the word "Christmas" cross his lips.  When an "O'Reilly" producer tried to confront him on the Christmas light ban, he INSISTED on callng them "holiday lights".   This is a person who wants to get rid of Chirstmas.

WHAT "holiday" is celebrated with all of those distinctive lights?  As far as I know, Christmas is the ONLY one.  But selectmen in this Massachusetts town (and leftists elsewhere) are evidently determined that Christmas should not be MENTIONED "officialy", even though it is a national holiday.

Are leftists out to get rid of Christmas?  Of course they are.  Leftis Alan Colmes was advertising that he was featuring--on his radio show--CHRISTIANS who don't believe in celebrating Christmas (a position I am aware is a part of the Jehovah's Witness religion, since I represented a Jehovah's Witness woman in a religious freedom case--winning).  What is the PURPOSE of Alan Colmes (leftist) featuring minor Christian sects on his radio program (where he would ordinarily NOT feature--sympathetically--evangelistic Christians)?   It is clearly to advance the agenda of the ATTACK on Christmas.

Peopel who use the term "holiday lights" should be SHOT.   That is NOT because they are anti-religious, anti-Christmas BIGOTS (although they are).  It is because they are no longer fit to be in the gene pool.  They are so divorced from reality that they are a DANGER to themselves and others.   If shooting is regarded as to harsh, in this enlightened age, they should be locked away in a mental asylum.

The sad thing:  I shoudl not joke about locking leftists away in a mental asylum.  If they had the power, I am sure that they would do EXACTLY that (seriously) to conservatives.  Leftists are presently the most intolerant people on this Earth (with the POSSIBLE exception fo Islamic extremists).  This is shown by their attempt to SILENCE critics of "global warming", and to label them as basically insane (the difference here is that people who use the term "holiday lights" ARE insane, while people who are skeptics of "global warming" are RIGHT).

  Great Barrington has put no such ban on christmas lights.  Any resident can put up any lights they like on their own property, as it has always been.  The only difference is that the strings of snowflake lights hanging across both Main Street and Railroad Street will by turned off at 10:00 PM instead of midnight.  Which makes sense, because I drive through Great Barrington every night, often around 10:00 PM, and there's never anyone around.
  
  And since when was Christmas about lights?  I thought it was about celebrating the birth of Jesus and his teachings which tell us to being forgiving of those who may not see things the way we do.  And, quite frankly, I'm pretty sure Jesus would have a lot more of a problem with your suggestion of shooting or locking up those whose opinions differ from yours than with us in Great Barrington turning off some lights that no one sees two hours earlier, and making those who don't share our believes comfortable by not covering property that belongs to both them and us with lights that only represent the holiday of one religion.
  
  Read your new testament again, and maybe someday you'll understand the real meaning of Christmas.
