John Edwards has a commericial out there repeating one of those phantom statistics:  a 1984 type BIG LIE.

The ad says that 25% of the homeless out there on our streets are veterans.  That statistic is NOT TRUE.  See the archives of this blog, where I reproduce a complete analysis of this "phantom statistic" (made up by an "advocacy grop").

How does this work?  You know how.  A leftist group MAKES UP a statistic ("estimate"), based on no real facts, and the statistic then becomes religious truth for the left. 

This particular lie has perculated all of the way into the Edwards campaign.  It shows that Edwards, and really all of the Democratic candidates, are creatures of the extreme left--automatically regurgitating anything the extreme left says.
