Dick Morris
Finally, someone has CONFIREMED the obvious (obvious, that is, to this blog, but not--apparently to all of the pundits out there saying that we will KNOW the nominees of the two parties on February 6): The Republican race is so close and fluid that it is entirely possible that NO ONE will win a majority of either the vote or delegates in the "Super Tuesday" primaries on February 5.
Dickk Morris raised this possiblility on O'Reilly last night. Unfortunately, Morris did not have the courage to take the next step (taken by this blog long ago): The FRONT LOADING of the primaries means that a DEADLOCK on February 5 (with it still being possible that FIVE Republican candidates might receive significan votes) makes it pretty likely that we will have a DEADLOCK going into the convention (not know the nominee, because no one has a first ballot majority). That is because there will be so few delegates left to be decided after February 5--making it harder to put together a majority by getting on a roll.
Dick Morris, by the way, is getting less and less worth listening to. His anti-Hillary stuff is getting old,and I don't see that he has any valuable insights into the 2008 election. I guess I should not grouse, however, since he HAS shown again that this blog is RIGHT (again): a DEADLOCK on February 5 is entirely possible. We may NOT know the winnter of the nomination on February 6.
