Sex, Abstinence, and Jamie Lynn Spears
AOL is carrying a New York Times story about how parents are upset that they now have to talk to their 8, 9, and 10 year old girls about teenage sex and pregnancy. As usual, the New York Times misses the point. The people in DENIAL here, and who need to stop standing in the way of real discussions of the DANGERS and downside of SEX, are leftists and the mainstream media. Those are the very people who have recently been engaging in a propaganda campaign AGAINST abstinence education.
Remember when smoking was "pervasive". Remember that unrelenting, propaganda campaign against smoking that finally gained traction, AFTER DECADES.
As I have shown repeatedly in this blog, SEX (of the promiscuous, non-marital kind) is hazardous to your health--much more than smoking. See my multiple entries YESTERDAY on Jamie Lynn Spears, and previous multiple entries in the archives of this blog. Is ANYONE in the "mainstream" (media or not) proposing an unrelenting, pulic service campaign--like on smoking. Of course not. This is because leftists, and people who don't want to take on SEX lest it make them seem "repressed" and non-modern, are in DENIAL. They are LESS willing to talk seriously about sex than the most repressed fundamentalist Christian who ever lived ("Condoms in every home" is their "solution", as if failure to have access to condoms was the problem of Jamie Lynn Spears, and as if teenagers can be convinced to always use condoms when they can't be convinced to be chaste--which we KNOW is FALSE from history as recent as the 1950's).
I have said that people who oppose abstinence education/communication have RUINED LIVES and BLOOD on their hands. I am right.
