Did the Grinch steal Christmas this year.  If not, it was not for lack of trying by intolerant, anti-Christian, anti-Christmas bigots.

Ft. Collins, Coloratdo (which you would hope would not be a hotbed of leftism) banned Christmas trees, and other types of Christmas decoration in government offices.  Great Barrington, Massachusetts first (their slectment, anyway) refuses to let the word "Christmas" cross their lips--referring to Christmas lights as "holiday lights"--and then bans outside "holiday lights" (see previous blog entry where I stated that people calling Chirstmas lights "holiday ights" should be SHOT--to save the gene pool), ostensibly to save the planet ("global warming").

Then there is the despicable Associated Press, AOL, and the rest of the mainstream media making such a big deal over Mike Huckabee (only my third choice for Presdient) DARING to refer to Jesus in his "Merry Christmas" campaign ad.

We STILL have those wimpy "happy holidays" ads (I saw one for Lowe's--I should warn retailers that any business who uses "happy holidays" immediately causes me to consider NOT shopping there).  While I am glad to be wished a happy "Fourth of July", I do think it is premature.  Especially as we actually approach Chirstmas, "happy holiday" greetings are almost as bad as "holiday lights".

There continued to be the usual battles over Nativity Scenes, and the like, as INTOLERANT leftists continue the battle against Christmas with their usual illogic (unitl you realize that they really want to ABOLISH Christmas--see below).  Christmas is a NATIONAL HOLIDAY, but leftists want to keep people from knowing what the holiday is about.  Hint:  It celebrates the BIRTH OF JESUS.  It is a RELIGIOUS HOLIDAY.  Yet, there is this intolerant, leftist idea out there that you are not allowed to show, on public property, the MEANING of the national holiday.   That is ridiculous. 

Nope.  No other religion has a holiday as a true national holiday.  Christians have THREE:  Thanksgiving (even though the religious aspect is downplayed these days), Christmas, and Good Friday/Easter.  Is this an "establishment of religion."  Of course not.   It is merely a recognition that a majority of the country is Christian.  People who are not Christian (like me, although admittedly I was raised Presbyterian) should recognize the REALITY that they live in a country where the majority of the people are Christion.  Even Hillary Clinton did a CHRISMAS COMMERCIAL.  She did NOT do one for the Jewish holiday, or the Muslim holiday (that I am aware of, anyway, and certainly any such ad got NO publicity).

Does it affect the FREEDOM of anyone else for government to grant a national holiday for the MAJORITY religion  (even though Christians do not all the same, MOST--Jehovah's witnesses being an exception, and some other, minor sects being an exception--celebrate Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas as religious holidays).  Of course it does not.   Muslims are not prevented, in any way, from celebrating their holidays.  Jews are not, either.  Nor are Buddhists, Hidus, etc.  They just don't get their holidays recognized as national holidays. This is, of coure, different from most Muslim countries, where Christian DISPLAYS tend to be PUNISHED.  Even Israel has the Jewish religion as a much more integral part of the state than the United States (wher NO religion is an INTEGRAL part of the government of the nation, but where INTOLERANT leftists want to exclude MENTION of the majority religon from public life).

Is it a violation of "freedom of religon" to note the MEANING of the CHRISTIAN holidays that we recognize?  Of course it is not.  Again, it is merely recognizing what the majority of Americans want to celebrate, and simply DESCRIBING the MEANING of what is being celebrated.   Muslims can buy ads, or go on TV, or preach in the public square to describe the meaning of THEIR holidays.  But there are simiply not ENOUGH of them in this country that their religion merits a national holiday (any more than Native Amercian religions get one, even though they were here FIRST).   This has NOTHIGN to do with denying "rights" to other religions.  It merely has to do with recognizing the REALITY of the majority religion in the country, and recognizing the MEANING of what is being celebrated.  Muslims don't have to celebrate.  They are NOT stoned if they don't (while in many Muslim countries, Christians are not nearly so secure). 

I have given an apt analogy in the past.  If I, as an agnostic, are in somebody's house--or at some meeting of an organization, or assembly for an event--what do I do if someone says a prayer (like grace before a meal, or an invocation)?   I do the SAME thing that I would do if I were a guest in a Muslim house, or at a Muslim event.  I bow my head--NOT in "worship", but in RESPECT and TOLERANCE for the beliefs of others.

Are these fanatical people who ant to exclude mention of the Christian religion from public life INTOLERANT and DISRESPECTFUL?   Of course they are.  They are ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIGOTS.  They simply want to USE intolerance for their own purposes--all the while FALSELY claiming to be on the side of tolerance.  It is the same thing as if I yelled out, in the middle of grace, that it is an INSULT to me to say grace in my presence.  That is NOT a blow for "tolerance"; it is a blow for INTOLERANCE--not to mention rudeness.

Bottom line:  Leftists, like the Grinch, want to DESTROY Christmas.  They want to essentially STEAL the joy out of it, and make it a holiday where NO ONE even talks publicly about what the holiday is about--that is, until they succeed in ABOLISHING CHRISTMAS.

Yes, the ACLU, and all of the rest, want to ABOLISH CHRISTMAS as a national holiday.  The logic of their position demands it.  They know that.  But they just don't DARE advocate it openly right now.  They need to prepare the way by first making sure no one actually ENJOYS Christmas (by turning it into an annual battleground).

How can by possibly say that a school is NOT allowed to allow a display about Christmas unless it allows a display (and decorations) for Ramadan (Muslim holiday, if I spelled it wrong), and then say it is okay to only have CHRISTIAN antional holidays?  The Muslim example comes from the example of this Muslim woaman who wanted a school to recognize the holiday of her religion,  or else not allow recognition of Christmas. 

Nope.  There is absolutely no doubt.  Leftists want to ABOLISH CRHISTMAS (as a national holidy).   Until they can accomplish that, they want to DMINISH Christmas in as many INTOLERANT ways as they can. 

Leftists are GRINCHES (okay, I have just managed to INSULT the Grinch).
