The Maverick Conservative

See previous three entries.  I am adding this one because I could not resist quoting the present story by the despicable AP, featured on AOL:  the following quote shows just how bad it has gotten as the media abandons all pretense at FACTS, in favor of total speculation:

"One zoo official insisted the tiger did not get out through an open door and must have climbed or leaped out. But Jack Hanna, former director of the Columbus Zoo, said such a leap would be an unbelievable feat and "virtually impossible."

Instead, he speculated that visitors could have been fooling around and might have taunted the animal and perhaps even helped it get out by, say, putting a board in the moat."

Isn't the above just MARVELOUS:  typical of the truly evil Associated Press and today's mainstream media (See my AOL blog, "The Maverick Conservative", for daily examlples).

Note that there is NO fact in the aobve two paragraphs.  That is, there is NO EVIDENCE cited as to the means the tiger got out.  There is merely CHARACTER ASSASSINATION by SPECULATION--it even SAYS SO.  "A board in the moat"?  Give me a break.  This is what passes for "news" these days:  SPECULATION on BLAME.   Myabe the boys did something; maybe they didn't do much.  They deserve better than this.

P.S.  NO it does NOT matter whether any of the speculation turns out to be correct, just as it does not matter whether Drew Peterson "did it" (as he probably did kill at least one of his wives, and quite possibly both)--see my series entitled "Drew Peterson and the Evil Media", where I try to make this point.
