Robert F. Kennedy and Benzir Bhutto
Sirhan Sirhan killed RFK, and he did so alone. You are a KOOK if you believe otherwise (part of my "you are a kook if:" series--see archives).
However, there are at least superficial similarities to Benazir Bhutto. Kennedy was a candidate taking on the Democratic Party establishment (behind Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey) in a race for the Presidency. Because of the Vietnam War, our country was almost in a state of chaos (albeit never even close to as bad as Pakistan). President Johnson was a hated figure.
Then came the assassination of RFK. Conspiracy theories surfaced immmediately. Some people even denied that Sirhan Sirhan shot RFK (even though he did so in a crowded hallway, and many people SAW him do it). There were all kinds of theories as to WHO actually killed RFK.
Should there have been an "international" "investigation"?
The question answers itself. It is silly. NO "investigation" was ever going to satisfy the consipiracy theorists or the anti-Vietnam War, violent left. It could not be done. That is also true in Pakistan. NO "investigation" is going to satisfy people with an agenda.
That is why WE (the United States) need to do our own evaluation of what is in OUR interest--including our own best evaluation of what happened (exactly the opposite of what Hillary Clinton publicly advocated).
Unfortunately, in the world as it presently is, people DIE--like RFK. It is impossible, and stupid, to have an international "investigation" when that happens. Nations with a direct interest (we are giving aid to Pakistan and have soldiers dying in Afghanistan on the Pakistan border) have to protect their own interest.
But this Clinton/media/leftist/Democrat idea that everything "controversial" should have a U.N. investigation is simply so stupid I can hardly stand it. These people are not qualified to be dog catcher.
